I see no reason why I shouldnt be allowed in the military, or any other women. If I can preform the same job as any man, why shouldnt I? I understand the concequences of what could happen if i'm a POW, just the same as any soldier also understands that its possible (not likely) but possible to die overseas. Its a chance we're willing to take to defend someones freedom.

Almost no one believes that women shouldn't be in the military. At both the Democratic and Republican Presidential debates, the candidates were jumping all over each other saying how women are smart and capable and just as good as men in every possible way and anyone who says different is an ignorant sexist pig.

Here's the question that is up for debate, though:
Should women be drafted into the military? It's one thing to allow women to do what they want. It's another thing to force women to put their lives on the line for a cause they may or may not believe in.

there is no reason that women shouldn't be in the military and all the reasons that people cite for women in the military make no sense - sexual relations, too sensitive, not strong enough, prove a distraction - if you think these reasons are true then you should ask all the male EMTs, firefighters, and cops how many times their female counterparts have supported them, laid their lives on the line for them, or helped save or protect them because these jobs require many of the same things that the military does. Take it from an Army brat - we need them there and they deserve to be there. As to the question about women being drafted I say hell yeah - equality means equal responsibility - women should be willing to fight for and protect their rights just as much as men

Before I joined the Army, I had no problems with women being in the military. Why not? They should be able to do what they want, whether it be fighting on the front lines or sitting behind a desk as a clerk. Most are just as courageous as men, and the fact that they are placing themselves in a role not historically suited to females makes them all the more tougher. I agree with equal rights, fair gender representation, and all that. It's great.

Unfortunately, I can't support this view anymore. I don't think women should be in the military. Granted, there are military females who have done very well and are examples to every soldier, male or female.

But the bad examples still exist. The damages that they cause to morale and unit stability far, FAR exceed the benefits of the honorable female soldiers.

Whenever males and females are together, there is going to be sexual tension. That is human nature. I know of instances where female soldiers have prostituted themselves for the rest of their platoon. A female Major was arrested for being a madame over an entire floor of female soldiers. I know a female platoon leader who got pregnant by her OWN platoon sergeant. I know a different female platoon leader who had regular sex with her own enlisted soldiers. She was caught mounted on a specialist while out training in the field. Female soldiers who are disenchanted with the military find ways to get pregnant around the time their unit is ordered to deploy, providing themselves an easy way out, screwing the rest of the soldiers that have to rely on them.

I'm not disagreeing with a female's ability to work well and be a productive member of the military or society in general, but as far as reality goes, these bad instances destroy morale and a soldier's ability to trust others in his unit.

Sexual tension destroys the fundamentals of morale and trust, and because of that reason, females should not be allowed in the military anymore. Trust me, there are a lot of great female soldiers out there, but the bad ones have ruined it for everybody.

A solution to this would be to create all-female units, and keep everybody separated.

Women lack some of the physical abilities that men have. Also having men and women in the same unit would inevitably lead to sexual relations and, for some women, pregnancy. Not only does this then remove the woman from actually being combat-ready but serves as a distraction in the unit. Combine this with the strong possibility of rape and other sexual assaults occurring on the battlefield or a POW camp should they captured is another issue.

who said the shouldn't. Anyway if you are looking for any reasons that one might have why women shouldn't be in the military, I am assuming that you mean infantry. I guess the only logical reason would be the general difference in physical strength. Kind of a touchy subject but their really is no reason for women not to be in the miltary.

Women are allowed in the military-just not in direct combat jobs. Various reasons for that mainly relating o male upbringing but can be changed if you get Congress to vote for it.

Women are a valuable part of the military!

Why shouldn't they? They do a great deal of jobs with the same ease as men do? Helicopter pilots, fighter pilots, transport pilots, combat nurses, MPs, truck drivers, mechanics, aircrews, civil affairs, translators; you name it.

Women are just as capable as men of doing the work it's required, so if a woman chooses to serve, there should be nothing to hold her back from serving her country with honor and dignity.

I believe woman should be in the service but should be kept separated from the men. There's a few reasons during war men get protective of women ( it's a natural part of a mans thought process ) and it may jeopardize the mission. There would be a lot less rape cases or fake rape reports. woman are more prone to infections in the field then a man. men are naturally more strong than a woman and having women in your platoon would slow you down. Your only as fast as your slowest soldier.
