Tips on being a good mum....being a good mum comes within the person themselves. If you took care of her since she was 16 mos, how did you do it, now that she's 3Yr old? You must have done a great job by yourself. You don't need other people to tell you that you're a good mom. The best thing to do with your daughter is to actually get her to be with you while you're doing chores etc. And when it's nap time, just cuddle up with her.
P.S when anyone asks you who the little girl is, DO NOT introduce her as 'My stepdaughter' infront of her or when she's not there. Love her as she was your own.

Girls are fun! I have taught my daughter how to shop (she's 9 now) starting at the clearance rack first, we cuddle and watch movies, bike ride, read night-night stories on a regular basis. Just include her and love her. Always let her know that she is loved and let her know that no matter what, she can talk to you about anything. And I do mean anything. (35 yo mother of 2 17yo boy, 9yo girl.

I have two boys ages 3 1/2 and 1 1/2 and I'm a SAHM.. However, I DO work part-time in the evening.... My kids LOVE to have story time before bedtime.. They also LOVE bathtime and to watch kids movies.. I also have been teaching them to clean up their toys in the evening BEFORE bathtime/bedtime... They LOVE helping mommy/daddy clean-up.. I think it's good to have "boundries" and to teach your children manners... My children say "please" and "thank you" it's very sweet and I hope they continue to be polite little boys and grow up to be polite adults....
good luck

I try to have a lot of patience but sometimes you have to be firm.
For quality time we read, or play a game or just cuddle.

If you say something, always stick to it. Children, especially 3 yr olds need to know boundaries. They love helping us though, with anything. watering the garden, drawing, puzzles anything that stimulates their mind.
