what , you dont have none, than what if your faith that there is none is wrong,,
if im wrong and there is none , ive lost nothing , but lived a happy and good life,
but on the other hand if your wrong ,it cost you forever in hell .
seems to me , a person has to be absent minded to believe there is no God or hell,
what do you think about it?

|The proof is in Common sense... All one has to do is look around them and see all the Lord has created.... I can't prove this to you. Either you know or you don't... it's a choice, and I have chose to Believe in My lord and Savior Jesus Christ.... And FYI There are No Unbelievers In Hell !!!!!

I think you're wrong. You're quoting Casper's Wager, which is illogical. Since there are an infinite possibility of religions in the universe, then there is a HUGE possibility that yours is wrong.

Also, just because there is no evidence that does not God exist doesn't mean that God exists. Just because there is no evidence that a pink fairy leprechaun-unicorn hybrid does not exist, does not mean that it DOES exist.

In fact, the most reasonable and logical position to hold on faith is to be an agnostic, since they acknowledge that it cannot ever be knowns scientifically or verifiable.

With that said, I'm a Christian, and I believe in Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior, and true God and true Man. I simply believe that you're going about it wrong - Faith is exactly that, a Faith. Logic simply does not imply because there is no logical reason to BE religious.

Where is the proof that there is?

I think a person that needs promises of an afterlife and a God to do right, and needs some supernatural being and form of faith to get them through the day is the dumb one, actually.

P.S. Is that Pascal's Wager I'm seeing? I couldn't tell with the horrible grammar.

u have a pretty good point... there is consequence for not being christian but none for being atheist... but wut ur saying is that people should be christian jsut out of fear of hell.... ur playing it safe basically.. i see ur point... its a fairly good one..

there is NO PROOF that God doesnt exist ... NO PROOF that hell doesnt exist ...NO PROOF that satan doesnt exist....

but at the same time... there is no proof that any of these things exist either...there is none ....

as for your question... lets be fair here... how do i know which religion is correct?

faith is based upon some kind of book...
the Bible
the Quran
the Torah...

and different versions

not to mention Buddism...

so how do i know which one is correct????

there is no answer...

this is the problem with religion to atheists.... too much contradiction...this is why people dont beleive.... because obviously u must pick one..... how do u know which one is right?

christianty states only through christ u will live forever...
jews obviously beleive that to worship jesus is wrong and against God... which is against the 10 commandmentss
Islam beleives u must fast.... and not to worship jesus as well... also against 10 commandments..

so if pray to jesus.... and it turns out when i die...
that islam is that right religion... then i guess im screwed cuz i worshipped a false god..

if im jewish... and it turns out that christ is the only way to heaven... Guess im screwed again right?

if beleive in islam... then im screwed too... cuz wut if jesus was the only way to heaven...

this is why atheists beleive what they beleive... its not like their is 1 religion here....

theres alot and obviously u have to choose 1...

and most religions preach that there religion is the only right way...

so what your saying is? why dont i take a chance?

good point i guess...but i dont like the idea that i had basically suck up to some1 so i dont burn in hell... or whatever....

I think that that is Pascal's Wager, and that you are an enabler.

*Drink*

Anywho, so that I can enlighten you a wee bit before dismissing your question as moot, let me just say that there are other religions aside from Christianity, other interpretations of what god/gods may be, other interpretations of what an afterlife may hold, and all of them have just as much validity as the Christian perspective (assuming that there are gods or an afterlife at all anyway).

All of this poses a problem, in that we cannot be certain that simply believing that a god exists results in salvation, do not know whether there is punishment at all, do not know what actions (if any) actually lose our chances at a positive afterlife. We do not even know if the existence of a god guarantees an afterlife, or vice versa.

So, rather than pidgeon-holing myself in one religion out of the thousands of alternatives that have existed, do still exist, or could possibly exist but that has not earned a large following (think: Star Hippos), I admit defeat in the issue, and just hope that any god that does exist will forgive a healthy skepticism on the issue.

Tell me..When's the last time you saw any of this? It's possible to live a good and happy life with no belief in the above. When's the last time God sent manna from heaven to feed the people? Needless to say,... people need this again. Where is your God? Playing chess with the devil?

Drink up, yet again.
====================
You've got this exactly backwards. If you believe that there are heaven, hell, God, and the devil, and you turn out to be right, it'll cost you an eternity in hell.

On the other hand, if you don't believe in those things, and it turns out they're real, you get to spend eternity in heaven.

Do you really want to take that chance? Why not play it safe, and not believe in them?

Jeez, I can't believe Crusader is still posting that nonsense.

My proof that there is no heaven, hell, God or the devil is that there should be evidence of them - and there is none.

"Absence of evidence is not evidence of absence..." unless that evidence is expected, in which case its absence is really bad.

****
To Catholic Crusader - Aquinas merely restates the same "uncaused first cause" argument five different ways, combined with some sloppy stuff lifted straight out of Plato. News flash : He was wrong then, Plato was wrong before him, and both their arguments are still wrong.

Oh my day just wouldn't be complete without a version of good Ol' Pascal...

You are making a claim that it is real but offering no evidence. As there is no evidence and no one has been able to cough any up in nearly 2000 years then I am going with where the evidence leads - that it doesn't exist.
