I am doing a secret santa at my workplace and found out that the person I have LOVES Red Wine. So, I was going to get a bottle.
Unfortunately for me, I have never drank Red Wine. What is good that is impressive?? I think the limit is like $20 to $30. The person I have is also a manager in another department...
Any suggestions??

Check on the money limits. There are lots of red wines which are good. Brands that I like are Yellow Tail, Robert Mondavi, Turning Leaf, Red Bicycle, etc. You can get a Merlot, Chardonnay, Shiraz. If you go to a wine store or a liquor store, you could ask for help. Good wine doesn't have be imported or expensive. $ 12-15 is a good wine, too.
You may want to get a bottle of wine and a couple of nice wine glasses. Good luck in your search.

Tell him you are throwing a party(small 3-4 people) at your house/Apt., Italian food with meat etc. and you want to serve a nice wine,that would go with the food. tell him you want something that won't break the bank, but nice (Red goes with Meat, pasta etc.)
Ask him to give you several choices/prices, and use them at the wine store. Believe me,if he Loves red wine,he will have his favorites at the TOP of the list,

Brilliant ruby red hue. Lovely aroma of black currant, violets, plum and licorice. Medium-full with excellent concentration and a generous mid-palate. This has a big, well-structured finish with youthful tannins, nicely integrated oak and finely tuned acidity. Quite impressive.
