According to the anti-scientology sites, the brainwashing doesnt occur until very high up. That would mabe be comparable to entering the priesthood in some other religion. So I guess you can make your own judgement on that.

Prior to that the self help courses are all good as far as I could tell. Its all stuff that can be found in many other self-help courses and for about the same costs.

It not a joke. i visited the scientology center in midtown ny.
they new recruits sitting in front of a tv and they all looked like zombies. something felt REALLY WRONG in that place. i have no religion and am very open minded. look up l ron's connection to aleister crowley. proceed with much caution

The interview to find out what your problems are as they suggest you take the test - thats not brainwashing. Thats your freedom of choice to beleive them or not.

But if you listen to anything they tell you after you do the test - THATS brainwashing.

Well acording to Scientologist, none of the initiation is brainwashing.

In my personal view point Scientology, like any religion, is BS.

Scientology was just a prank pulled by L. Ron Hubbard to see if there were people stupid enough to believe it. Turns out, he was right.
