hi. im 15 and have been raised as a christian. over the years i have realized MY beliefs. it seems to me that the bible is not deffinate proof of anything. my opinion (im not bashing anyone) is that the bible was written by man (inspired by god). i have gone through religious classes and the hole nine yards and i just dont believe the stuff the bible sais. my personal views is that there is some form of higher athority but i just dont believe what the bible sais. i have tried to get "closer to god", but have failed. what would i be considered based on my beliefs?

It makes you a person who was raised in the church who still has yet to make his faith genuine.

You have been in the church learning what to say and how to behave, but you haven't committed yourself to God personally. If in word you have, but not you heart - by your own words. You don't believe.

I was NOT raised in the church, but came to the knowledge of the truth, and committed myself to God with no one else around. I was coach into it by a man who was raised Roman Catholic, who had also parted with the traditions of the church and came to the knowledge of the truth. He had made his commitment genuine.

So that's what you have in front of you. you are finally an independent enough in thinking to think for yourself, but many questions have come up. So you will either one day reject the whole thing, or you will challenge the traditions of the church yet remain a part of God's people. Just not one like those you were raised with.

I think your just simply someone with faith in something, not a certain religion. I think you doubt some of the things that happen, and wonder why a God would let all this happen. To be honest I often wonder the same thing.

Deist. You are in good company; Jefferson was one. You have correctly perceived that the bible is fiction; with further examination, you may see that there isn't any reason to believe in any sort of god, and then you will be an atheist. See:

Someone that is searching, you need to look at religions and see which ones you match up with. You're not an atheist because you believe in a Higher Power

On your way to realising that not all religions can be right and eventually, you'll probably stop believing in any higher authority altogether through lack of evidence.

I have no idea, but one thing's for sure.. You were never a Christian. And I don't believe you ever tried to get close to God either. I think you've been pulling in your own direction and trying to make him follow. When he doesn't do what you want him to, you call it failure. If you're going to give God an honest chance you have to realize that he's going to do things HIS way - the Bible's way - not yours. And if you can't handle that, go ahead and continue pretending you know better than him. Screw up your life.

There is a quiz you can take at www.beliefnet.com that will tell you what religion and denomination most closely fits your beliefs. Also, look at www.uua.org

Being RAISED a Christian doesn't make you one. That is a decision you have to make for yourself. Jesus offers salvation individually. The choice to accept or reject is up to each one of us.
He says repent and come to Him for the forgiveness of your sins. If you haven't done that for yourself, you can't get close to God.

BECAUSE, By the deeds of the law there shall no person be justified in God’s sight: for by the law is the knowledge of sin and all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God; Romans 3:20, 23
THEN, They all might be damned who believed not the truth, but had pleasure in unrighteousness. 2 Thessalonians 2:12 Also I say unto you, whosoever shall confess me (Jesus) before men, him shall the Son of man (Jesus) also confess before the angels of God: But he that denies me before men shall be denied before the angels of God. Luke 12:8-9
HOWEVER, The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness; but is longsuffering toward us, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance. 2 Peter 3:9
FOR, Jesus said, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man comes to the Father, but by me. John 14:6
THEREFORE, If you shall confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus, and shall believe in your heart that God has raised him from the dead, you shall be saved. Romans 10:9
THEN, He that overcomes, the same shall be clothed in white robes; and I will not blot out his name out of the book of life, but I will confess his name before my Father, and before his angels. Revelation 3:5
SO, That whosoever believes in him should not perish, but have eternal life. John 3:15
