The best way to forget about someone is time. take it one step at a time, don't rush into another relationship because this is where you will be back. talk to a guy that you like or likes you and keep talking to him. once the guy you have been talk to is in your life, your ex will be gone!

I recommend that you become deeply interested in something else. Notice I didn't say someone else. Maybe exercise, reading, cooking, join a club maybe or do volunteer work. Cleaning your house/apt. is good as long as you have some (not romantic) music on. Whatever you do, don't SEE the other person, even if it's just to talk or to return something. Something about seeing them face to face (especially if they are handsome or pretty) makes you weak & they can talk you into something. I don't know what the statistics are, but when a couple breaks up & then gets back together, it seldom works out. When you catch yourself thinking about them, get up & do something different. Oh yeah, and make a list of things that you don't like about that person & when you think of more, add them to the list.

In conjunction with the usual advice of picking up a hobby, going out and meeting someone new, and simply forgetting him...I also advise to think of all the bad things about him. I know its wierd. But, the thing that usually gets you down is when you focus on how much you loved him, how good of a person he was, how much you fun had together, etc. But, if you focus on some of the bad sides of his character, you'll see him as a real person (instead of pedestal ppl tend to put to their ex on). You may find out that he is someone who you werent compatible with in the first place. Good luck!

find someone or something to fill your time. time heals all wounds, so if you are too busy seeing someone else or with a new hobby, it will pass a little easier.
