I left some raw ribs and pork in the trunk of my car last night, it was 40-45 degress last night, is it still safe to refridgerate and to eat?

it was still sorta cold to the touch this morning...

no bacteria can still live i suggest just buying some new meat

It should be just fine. 40 to 45 degrees is still in the "safe" zone according to the Health Dept. Your fridge at home runs about 40 degrees since 32 is freezing.

I'd guess it wasn't that cold the whole time they were out there, unless you didn't put them in the trunk until the sun had gone down and the temp had dropped that low. They probably sat there at least an hour or so at a warmer temperature, right?

I would NOT take a chance on making my family sick by serving them!

If it was 40-45 degrees it should be fine. If it was 55-60 I would throw it out. How does it smell? That can tell you a lot.

that depends, were they sealed? If so, they might still be okay, just be very careful when cooking them, and if you notice anything odd, smell, taste or anything, just toss them. Besides, if it was cold to the touch, then it probably held itself. I mean, in the olden days people did stuff like that all the time, and they survived long enough to reproduce, lol.

probably yeah. The old way of refrigerating was leaving meat in the cold ground during winter. But it probably won't be too fresh since you left it in a car.

note this sentence from wiki: "but generally 2 to 8 °C (36 to 46 °F) is ideal for the refrigerator compartment"

so I would say its good to eat. (after cooking of course)

It is probably ok, but pork is the one we want to cook thoroughly to prevent getting trichonosis, be safe and throw it out.

Do Not eat it ~
Official "Freezing" temperature for food = below 40 degrees (Fahrenheit).

It's not worth the risk of making yourself violently ill.

Depends. You could eat it, and possibly nothing will happen. Or on the other hand. You could eat it and be violently ill. So, it's your decision

If it is just one night I don't think there would be a problem....though what's the green thing I cannot tell if it is from the marinade...what's inside the marinade? does it smell ok?
