Of course, that includes adhering to the same method of interpreting EVERY PASSAGE, not just the ones that you like the best or sound the most pleasant.
Do you think any human could possibly deal with all the conflicting instructions, or would you at some point just have to pick a few that you know you can obey and discard the rest?
What are your thoughts on the differences and similarities with modern society and culture?

I didn't say the Bible contradicts itself, I said the Bible teaches conflicting lessons. But yes, the Bible DOES contradict itself, but I didn't feel the need to point that out in my question. Perhaps I should have.

All of the top answers are sad to hear. People know a lot less than they think. The bible teaches against death, and teaches love everyone as yourself, as a sister or brother. It also teaches do NOT judge others, turn the other cheek NOT eye for an eye. Do NOt commit adultry, etc etc... it is all very good. If we all followed it there would be less violence, less divorce (I know the statistic "christians have higher divorce rates" well they obviously aren't following that rule are they?).

I think some people have harder time following some rules than others. Everyone has a weakness.

you really cant take the bible too literally.. i mean come on
"remember the sabbath and keep it holy"
obviously you cant shut down ER's the military Paramedics because of this ...
you have to use some logic.. like okay i need a set a day aside for church....thats all its saying...
but to answer your question
every1 would be well... gee well.. let me think about this one....HMMMMMMMMMM
oh yeah there was a point in history where this happened..
The catholic church ruled and burned witches... homesexuals lived scared....exc...
yes i kno u didnt say.. if the catholic church ruled the gov...
u said just morals..
but morals includes not direspecting god...it also includes preaching the word of god..
so basically we'd have christians every where u walked screaming down your throat.....
there would be no respect for those tha would be different... because ultimately every1 would be against everything the bible didnt stand for..
imagine a gay person cant even walk into a bar... without
REPENT REPENT...
anything you did ...ud have some christian down your throa because we are in fact human... every sin u did u would have some1 screaming at u..
homosexuals even if they beleived it was wrong to be gay.. would still BE GAY ... because thats what they are... theyd feel bad about it in ur pretend world... but theyd still be gay..
some humans would feel be able to do it.but the most part...
alot of plp would be living a lie.. feeling everyhting they truly beleived would be wrong cuz it conflicted with the bible.....
people would live afraid basically....
and theres too many subjects the bible doesnt cover... so for things it didnt cover.. their would be chaos

there's a various attitude to this question. You settle for Jesus as your very own Savior and Lord. He aspects the Holy Spirit as your instruction manual. The Holy Spirit permit you to be attentive to what are the failings which you may take actually; issues like love your neighbor as your self. there are maximum of issues that are prophesied for the destiny and a few related to the previous that are to no longer be taken actually. The Holy Spirit will provide the best coaching.

if we looked properly the way God who would give his life for us. the bible looks first to show us whats wrong second the punishment, third a requirement of repentance, restoration through grace.a time period to work out the inappropriate behaviour.this is his goal for us to understand this.we are failing to understand properly. the blood covers pass sins and present.the obedience to the spirit that should be inside keeps us from living pass errors.
all interpretations should be made though the holy spirit first.if you do it any other way................... you are immediately in error.in other words God/s way , though his word ,gods
interpretation no other way.he will help if asked.he never honours doubt.

yeah, the old testament is brutal, the new one is more feel good.
so, when all in doubt, the golden rule is in the new testament. do unto others as you would have them do unto you. really it's the only instruciton you need. also the bible took its morals from the morals of the day (most of them timeless) and most morals of the day were born out of the need to keep the society safe/strong. if you want to ascribe them to the workd of god, thats fine. i'm not one of these bitter atiests that feel he need to stomp on religous peoples beliefs although i dont mind if they challenge them.

Disclaimer: Agnostic (look it up)
Virtually all of the answers are based on Old Testament laws. Jesus said they had all been replaced by love your neighbor as yourself and love God with all your heart and soul. So, why do you Christians and athiests keep quoting Old Testament laws? Unless you are Jewish, they don't apply.

I'd be driving all my six wives to the supermarket I guess, see if I could swap one for a camel or something.
Meanwhile back home a couple of the kids would be all trussed up ready for the evening's sacrificial bonfire (with my six wives and no contraceptives I can spare a few of the kids... for religious requirements).

We would live in a very moral, organized world. The Bible doesn't contradict itself. People just need to read it. It makes perfect sense if we really read.If we would read it in its entirety like God intended it would make sense. We need to read it all and live by it.

"Hell'' on earth. Homosexuals would be killed, anyone with ''different'' ideas would be killed, there would still be slavery everywhere, people would be stoned for crimes. Science would be halted. That is all I can think of now but I know that there are many many more examples

If we all got our "morals" from the Bible, then there would be groups of people who would be even more completely oppressed than they are today, and they would most likely be killed.
