No "there" wouldn't. People would just find something else to fight about.

No, But you do have a good point. That Religion is in the middle of all the worlds problems. The trouble is that man wants things his way and he makes moral judgments based upon false teachings, or teachings of men. If we put these teachings to the test we find that they do not stand up to our Creators requirements. If we obey God as ruler rather than man, we would have world peace and security. But we are just to busy asserting that we are right that we miss the big issue. That soon God will put an end to our troublesome way, by overthrowing all man made governments Daniel 2:44

Atheism has created the Lenins, Stalins and Maos of the world, and they all end up in the trash heap of history. The Pope, last time I looked, still has care of over 1/6 of he worlds population.
FACT:
The consensus figure for those that the athiest Joseph Stalin murdered when he ruled the Soviet Union is 20,000,000
The consensus figure for those that the athiest Mao murdered is 77 million Chinese.
The number of people murdered by Pope Benedict, Pope John Paul II, Pat Robertson, Billy Graham, or Jerry Falwell is: 0

Of course not. I don't even think that YOU believe that. Most of the wars throughout history have had secular motivations not religious ones.
The most murderous people in the 20th century were secular. I am speaking of Pol Pot, Hitler, Stalin and even the Chinese government which bulldozed many of its young citizens with tanks in Tiannmen Square is strongly secular.
Some of these and others even PERSECUTED religious people and killed thousands simply because they had a religion.
I understand that you have been fed a load of crap about most of the wars in the world being religious but that is simply not the case. Even the crusasdes had more to do with gaining land and access to trading routes than it did with religion.
Let me also point out that the most NON-VIOLENT people of the last century were religious people.
1. Martin Luther King
2. Mohandas K. (Mahatma) Ghandi
3. Ali Shariati
4. Mother Theresa
In light of these facts your argument does not hold water.

There would be a better chance for peace. The next problem would be racism.
Some wars are fought over things like oil and land ownership. With a powerful U.N we could stop that. Getting rid of religion gets rid of many oppressive cultures. It would be a step in the right direction.

No. People would still fight about things. Land etc. I don't think there can ever be total world peace which is so sad. Lets just try and concentrate on getting our lads back from Iraq and Afganistan and letting the innocent people, like women and children, over there try and rebuild their lives after we have gone in a killed so many of them.

Religion is not the root cause of all wars, ignoramous.
The first two world wars, which were the deadliest wars in the history of Earth, were caused by conflicting political idealogies (i.e. nationalism, communism, racism or "Aryan" supremacy, etc). Religion played no role in starting the first two world wars.
Moreover, Osama bin Laden's motivation for 9/11 was not entirely religious: It was mostly political, as he is angry of the USA's support of the Israeli state, which is actively ethnically cleansing Arabs of all religions.

No, because religion I believe doesn't have as much to do with anything as what we are led to believe. I believe that there is just a bunch of power hungry people on the Earth and they mask their thirst for power by using religion as a cover.

Since there has always been religion, there is no answer to this question. Moreover the world has never been at peace.
Religion is not the cause of man inhumanity to man. Man is.
Answer: No God, world peace? I doubt it.

no- war is almost never about religion, though religion is a good scapegoat , people like to use religion as a means to justify their choices to battle- war is more about power, authority, greed- having more, getting more , exerting control over a people and a land - religion is also used as an excuse by believers and non believers alike in order to avoid taking responsibility for their own actions and lives
