Probably never.
Gloria, and b_daddyryhme: I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but "down under," most of the oval raecs are run the same direction as ours are. When NASCAR ran at the Thunderdrome back in the late 80's, early 90's, they did run the American NASCAR cars in the traditional counter-clockwise direction, whereas, due to the speed, and the nature of their cars, the Aussie NASCAR cars....known as AUSCAR did run clock-wise, to keep the driver away from the wall. How do I know? I have been racing "down-under." Like they say....Been There, Done That!!

They have. When they raced the "Thunderdome" back in the late 80's early 90's in Australia. If you play earlier Nascar games, this track is known as the Tiburon Motor Speedway. The reason they stopped going, because Nascar fans were used to seein' 'em go left, not right. The attendance went down a bunch for those races, so the took it off the schedule, same as the did Suzuka.

Whenever they decide to run a race in the wrong direction. But it will probably never happen because it would cost nascar teams millions of dollars to change the chassis and where the driver sits and everything.

Why are so many dill holes so obssessed with the slandering of counter clockwise ovals?
Why don't you ask the NBA and NFL section when there going to stop running back and forth and start running for and aft?

They're driving on the left side of the car; it's harder to see to the right, which means it's harder to see the white/yellow line (apron line) in a turn on a reverse oval.
