I agree that there probably was a creator and that the gods are very complex at times. Do I believe in the creation myths from any culture? I'm very agnostic with that one. The Christian myth is just as ridiculous as the Hopi to the Viking creation myths.
I think we don't know what happened in the beginning and it's possible that the gods were humans that ascended to deity status. Even the royal line of England trace their ancestry to Anglo chieftains who, in turn, traced their line back to Odin.
Guess I'm somewhat an agnostic heathen but I do believe my deities are real and current. I understand the atheists doubts and demands for proof, however and don't try to convince them by saying "My Eddas say how the earth was created so it's true" like some other religions.
