I'm so freaked about dying, too. Seriously, I'd be willing to wager that I'm a tad more freaked out than you but here is my SMART take on what happens. The world goes dark, our brain ceases to function and we feel like we are going to sleep. This is the exact reason why I can't go to sleep each night. I'm a little freaked that this time I won't wake up. I can't verify any of the other stuff about heaven, hell, afterlife, out of body experiences etc etc. I can only tell you what I know concrete which is that all human life as I've read, experienced, and observed is finite and must eventually come to an end. The one notion I think you should ponder as I do is that a number of folks seem to know when they are coming to their end (when it's health related)...which tells me that there are some mysteries of which I don't know but you asked for the SMART guess and my guess is that you enter into a dream state and never realize that you died. So are we really afraid of dying... I think we are more afraid of not living? Am I right?

First of all, let me make these things clear.
1. Everyone has a spirit and soul, something animals don't.
2. All bodies die, but the soul doesn't.
3. Our souls will go somewhere after we die here on earth.
Whether you consider my answer trustworthy or not is up to you. I do not guess, rather I believe these things. God created us; we didn't' just form out of nothing. Every cause that we know of has an effect, and every effect has a cause. The world is the effect, and God is the cause.
Our souls will go to either Heaven or Hell. We humans didn't just make this up; we each have a purpose in life, and we all know it, whether we pretend like we do or not. We are to worship (also translated as serve) God.
If you know Jesus, the judge, you don't have to worry at all! I don't worry about dying because I know I'm secure. We are humans and sinners, and we need to be saved. I'm saved, and I believe I will go to heaven. I could take a smart guess about what will happen to you, but I don't believe it's in my position to do so.
I'm glad at least some people take the time to stop and think about what happens after you die; it's important! It'd definitely a good thing to ponder, and I'm glad you're doing it. If you've freaked out about dying, the nervousness you may have from deciding to visit a church will be nothing. I'm glad you're looking into it!!!

That's the one question that no one can answer. There are those that belief you go to heaven or a better place and others believe that when you die, that's the end and you no longer exist. Others believe in reincarnation. Some talk of near-death experiences and seeing a white light that they are drawn to. Some take this as evidence of life after death while some believe there is a scientific explanation for this white light. Unfortunately nobody can tell you what happens when you die..

Well I know exactly what happens. But a lot of people refuse to believe it. Each and every person will go to eternity. There are ONLY two places where eternity is...Heaven or hell and they both are real. If you turn your life over to Jesus and ask Him to become your personal Savior and live for him and you know that you are a Christian then you will go to Heaven. It's not true that if you live good you will go to Heaven. You have to be born again. Other wise you will go to hell. How do I know that these places are real? Because I know of people who have had to be held down as they were dying because they seen the demons coming to take them away.

It depends on the faith you have. Some people believe that ghosts take your soul away or your soul is reborn. I believe that when you die God judges your soul to see whether you deserve to go to heaven or hell in purgatory. I used to be so freaked out about dying but I found out that I was just afraid of not having enough time with my family and friends and not being able to live all of my life. Being afraid enabled me to live my life to the fullest. I know its hard not to be afraid but it's hard to be because if you are you are spending your time worrying about whats going to happen instead of whats happening now.

Don't be freaked out by dying. When you end up being freaked out, all of your energy goes into that one thought. Live your life in the moment- and stop worrying about what will happen when it is all over. You have to deal with your life RIGHT NOW. Fate will handle the rest.

Many studies have shown that people experience similar near death experiences in diffirent cultures. This would suggest that there does exist something after death. What exactly that is, depends upon your personal beliefs.
The near death experience (NDE) most people describe is feeling like the are moving away from there body and moving towards a warm, white light.

my best guess is that i get to go home to Gods house. he has many mansions. in my mansion my parents are there and an ex boyfriend or two. my dog and other pets might me there too. and perhaps a miscarrage too. i will get to see my ex husband in a new light (if he makes it to heaven) and i will enjoy my many friends and coworkers that have passed on threw out the years. perhaps then i will find the true love of my life. i will get to stop going in to a mindless job and earning money to pay for things. i will get to sit back and enjoy the grass grow and have time to read that novel that i cant find time to pick up. the saddest part would be leaving the rest of my family and friends on earth.
