Because they are the adult and they are the child.
There is a difference. Children should respect their parents and adults.
That is what is wrong with a lot of parents today.
They spare the rod and spoil the child.
That is another reason why children misbehave and are out of control.
"Discipline should start at the play pin instead of
the state pin."
-Amen!

In the Bible, it reads;

Proverbs 13:24
He who spares the rod hates his son, but he who loves him is careful to discipline him.

Proverbs 19:18
Discipline your son, for in that there is hope; do not be a willing party to his death.

Proverbs 22:15
Folly is bound up in the heart of a child, but the rod of discipline will drive it far from him.

Proverbs 23
12 Apply your heart to instruction
and your ears to words of knowledge.
13 Do not withhold discipline from a child;
if you punish him with the rod, he will not die.
14 Punish him with the rod
and save his soul from death.

Deuteronomy 8:5
Know then in your heart that as a man disciplines his son, so the LORD your God disciplines you.

Job 5:17
"Blessed is the man whom God corrects; so do not despise the discipline of the Almighty.

Proverbs 1:7
The fear of the LORD is the beginning of knowledge, but fools despise wisdom and discipline.

Proverbs 3:12
because the LORD disciplines those he loves, as a father the son he delights in.

Proverbs 5:23
He will die for lack of discipline, led astray by his own great folly.

Proverbs 6:23
For these commands are a lamp, this teaching is a light, and the corrections of discipline are the way to life,

I can tell you this. When a parent spanks the child they understand the difference in beating them to death and lightly tapping, they understand seriousness and playing.

Where kids hit for ANYTHING< he pulled my hair ~~ I'm hitting him!!! He called me a Rubber Ducky! I'm beating the tar out of him!!! There are maturity levels that distiguish seriousness.

My son poured gasoline all over the back yard because after it stopped raining he ran straight out to it and poured it everywhere. One spark and my house it TOAST!!!! Do you see where I am coming from? There is a difference in maturity when it comes to hitting plus... why does a kid need to discipline his friends? Defending yourself? That should be the only reason, and even then there are alternatives to things when not serious.

Personally I dont hit, I put their noses on the wall for 3 minutes and this is BRUTAL to them!!!!!

Because children are children and parents are parents. When you have kids you have to discipline them in one way or another with spankings, time outs, and groundings or else they will grow up wild and rebellious. It's not one childs job to discipline another that's what they have parents for.

It all comes down to the very old and popular expression:

"Do as I say, Not as I do.." lol

I hated that as a child but as a parent I completely understand it.

It's a form of discipline, and parents should discipline the children, not children punishing children.

As a parent who does that I have to stop and think sometimes why I do that. Is n't it re-enforcement of a bad action. I think my things is to show what they are doing hurts and not to do it again.
