They will become isolated from everything that is or should mean something to them. Bills, loved ones, nothing matters. You know they have reached crital mass when they start lying about where they where and what they are spending. When they are in the zone nopthing else matters. When you find that you cannot understand where there head is at it is because they are gone.

Good luck.

I know someone like that. He has been playing online with his computer since he was nine years old and wins consistently (is planning to eventually pay his college tuition with total winnings). Everytime he is on his computer that is his first choice activity. When he has a party with friends they all play poker. When he went away to a baseball travel league where they all exchanged team patches, he went there with a bagful of his and came back with that bag still full but another bag also that he won from all the other kids in night poker games.

So anyone who is addicted makes that their life.

They will always be playing it, some times they will also go out and do it, so if they started playing poker online after and they continue to do it all the time, that means that they are addicted to it (non-stop playing)

if its controlling their lives. I am addicted to poker and I had to remove all such things from me actually doing it. Its hard because its so much fun. When all they do is play poker, getting lack of sleep because of it and other such things.
