I ahve been caring for a kitten I found when she was 2 days old. She is now 7 weeks old and has something wrong with her. She has lost alot of weight and is very "out of it." We have taken her to the vet and he gave us some nutrition cat food and told us to pump her full of fluilds like gatoraid and k-row (I know I spelled it way wrong). We also were told to giver her corn oil to help with bowel movement. However, through all of this the vet dosent know what my kitten has. Can anyone help? I dont want her to die. She was knocking on deaths door the day we took her to the vet. She has gained a little weight since weve been feeding her and filling her with fluids. What could she have? Please help!!!

i would resurch vets in your area and go there and get a second opinon ASAP. I fyou are alredy starting to see results then that means what the first told you do is working then mabey you should ask another vet what they think it might be it will get kinda expensive but a kitten is well worth it

It's so good of you to take care of her. In the past year, my senior kitty was sick and passed, my other senior kitty got really sick lost a lot of weight and is doing better, my kitten was really sick and too skinny.

For dehydration, get pedialite for kids, unflavored, use this as water. If she doesn't drink, mix it in wet food, make it watery. Get KMR, it's a meal replacement. My kitten was really skinny, so I gave him Esbilac for puppies. It has more fat and then I gave him KMR for kittiens to keep the weight. It worked!

If your kitten is constipated it's probably from dehydration, that's why pedialite would be good.

The special food and gtorade are merely treating the symptoms, but not the underlying problem; please take her to another vet. She could have worms or something more serious. You've gotten her this far-don't give up now! Good luck and let us know what happens.

Since you've already seen one vet, and have made SOME progress, take her to a different one. The 2nd one may be able to give her some tests to determine what's wrong....unlike those of US, who are NOT vets!! Get a 2nd opinion, ASAP..............
