Is it possible to reformat my computer with windows xp using the disc that came with the distribution of the new PC?

The disc is sort of bronze in color and it says that it's Windows xp Home Edition for distribution with a new PC only, but my computer is getting really weird so I wanted to reformat it, but I'm not sure if it's possible with this disc?

You have to have the key number that came with the disk. On pre-installed machines it is on a little Microsoft sticker on the computer. The store bought key numbers don't work with the factory bought disks. I have used a Gateway disk on a Dell computer with a Dell key number and by golly, it worked
