will the ps3 also fail. im asking this because they make ps3 games using blu-ray disks.

If Blu-Ray fails it doesn't mean that the PS3 fails. The PS3 can still be able to use Blu-Ray discs for games, it's just that the major DVD movies and other media will be on another format. But PS3 games will always be on Blu-Ray discs
I really don't think that Blu-Ray will fail because every PS3 that Sony sells is a Blu-Ray player. Sony was smart when they decided to put Blu-Ray on the PS3 because that would help to jump start the Blu-Ray format. And there are probably more people that own Blu-Ray players because Sony put Blu-Ray on the PS3.

Blu-ray wont fail because PS3 will not fail! I mean even if HD DVD wins the war, the fact that PS3 games are on Blu-ray will save Blu-Ray, they may stop making movies if that happens, but thats highly unlikely.

Blu- ray is on a roll, there are already several movies being made on blu-ray, and blu ray players are actually around the same price as Ps3 making it a very much worth its higher price (Blu-ray is here to stay)

It doesn't matter if the Blueray movie issue fail ...THe blueray drive on the PS3 is for GAMES!!!!!!!!!!! HD graphics, 3d, 4d motion realism and game physics need lots of space for programming. Blueray has 50 gigs per disc. The fact that you can also play blueray movies is an added bonus.
360s halo 3 on 8gig dvds only took an afternoon to beat. WOW that was worth $60. Uncharted drakes fortune for ps3 is over 25 gigs. and will blow your mind.
Alienware computers are only offering blueray as an hd format on their High end $4000 dollar gaming computers.

I dont believe Blueray will fail but they need more companies willing to market Blueray cuz it seems like there more interested in HD-DVD but PS3 wont fail cuz Sony is too big of a company to let that happen.

UMD 'failed' but they are still shifting PSPs as fast as anything.
