hi im 17 but i bought my gf a diamond ring and i am thinking of proposing on christmas to her, i am wondering what would be a good evening before i propose.

*There are so many different ways you could do it. The many christmas box one, where you put the ring in a small box, then that one into a bigger box, then that box into a bigger box, and so on and so on....then have her open the gift, she'll get irritated for having to open so many boxes but it will be well worth it.
*Get a really big box with tons of packing peanuts or fake snow, then put the ring in the bottom of the box.
*Do a scavenger hunt. and have her going around the home looking for other clues til she gets to the final one where you could be waiting...with the ring and on one knee.
* A holiday toast asking the important question
* Opening a gift that contains the engagement ring
* Dressing up as Santa Claus but giving an engagement ring instead of a candy cane
* Opening an “anonymous” holiday card with the question inside
* Visiting Santa at the mall together to ask for your Christmas wish
*Watching a snowfall and remarking that not all ice is cold as you give her a diamond ring
*hanging the ring box like an ornament on the tree. And when ever gift is opened say wait there is one more gift in the tree and when she goes to grab it, get down on one knee.

If you think SHE thinks she's going to get proposed to, wait until nighttime. Sit down in front of the TV near the tree with her, make some hot chocolate and a slice of pie/cake/dessert. If it fits, put the ring on either the spoon or fork.
I do think that angel idea answer above sounds adorable!

Here's how a friend of mine proposed at Christmas time. He bought an angel tree topper and wrapped it up. On Christmas Eve, in front of the tree he gave his girlfriend the present. She opened it and said it was beautiful and the perfect topper for the tree. He told her that he really liked the angel's tiara. She laughed, saying that angels have halos, not tiaras. He told her this one had a tiara and to look at it again. When she looked again, on top of the halo was an engagement ring. When she looked back at him, he was down on one knee, asking her to marry him.

Well, 17 is a bit young and I'd re-think your decision. However, I love the idea of a Christmas proposal.
I would put the ring on the Christmas tree. Let her know that her gift is somewhere on there.

my friends husband did it in a cute way...he bought her a present that he knew she would really love and attached the ring to the top of it... she was so excited to get the gift that she almost lost the ring in the paper and he had to keep telling her to be careful...
it was a cute story when she called me later in the day...

after all the gifts have been open tell her she forgot to look in here Christmas stocking. put the ring in there with the box of course. have fun.....

Take her to a nice dinner, then to look a christmas lights then propose to her in front of the christmas tree or fireplace tell her how much you love her first.

Take her for a walk around the neighborhood, hot chocolate in hand, and look at all the lights and decorations. Make sure you bundle up!
When you get to some particularly pretty site, give her a kiss, and then get down on one knee.
