Every book of the Bible embodies the message of the Cross of Christ in some way, but I believe that Romans is a wonderful place to start.
I'm not sure if I have any set form of studying the Bible, but I tend to go to the letters addresed to the different people or churches.

Romans and Galatians.

Oh. If I am not just casually reading I will translate the Greek text myself. Usually when I do this I do not read the English part for some time so my translation is as original as possible.
