I was reading this book about a year ago and it was talking about the after life, and no matter the race or backround or even location all of them saw there family members and got a chance to go to heaven but lived to tell it at the end.
They even had a special section of non believers, people who never believe in a God and that they were only worm food came back and decided to become Christians.
And then there were some who believed in God but never choose to have a religion.
Would reading this book change there views maybe?
I will admit I was crying because it was so touching.

The *drink* action is used on questions that have been asked in only about same sort diverse situations, frequently in one day. it quite is a request which you do a seek first in the previous asking. it quite is an acknowledgment that some people have self assurance their imaginary pal is actual and that their imaginary structures at the same time with heaven or hell are believed by potential of an identical people to be actual. That we difficulty implies we care deeply related to the wellness of others as delusion isn't a sturdy place for adults to be.

I assume that some atheists might believe in an afterlife of some sort . BUT the concept of 'Heaven' is something that a 'god' provided for us for some reason or other . We don't believe in 'god' therefore not a heaven .
While that book may have made you sad there are lots of other fiction books out there that can make you sad . You just have to remember they are works of fiction with nothing to back them up .

Back before I stopped believing in religion, and god, my sister had me read this'' touching' little book, written by a woman who ''died' and had an ' after death experience'.
She told of how she went to this place where, her husband was waiting for her, he had 'Passed on'', and was 'preparing their mansion'. How sweet.
She spoke of being immersed, in the river of redemption. and then of how she went to her house, and was with her husband.
One day, someone 'came' by, and took her to see God. They went a long way away, from where her house was,to a building like, Temple, where inside, A brilliant light sat upon a throne.
There was no conversation, only just a 'presence.'
Afterward,on her way home, she ran into Jesus, and they talked like 'old friends' answering every question she ever had, about everything.
later someone came by to teach her how to fly, and she flew over fields and streams, and beautiful landscapes, and then back towards the city, and then in the distance she could see huge villages, full of black people, and natives. ( Her words).
They weren't allowed to live in the 'city', because they hadn't ''known god.
She finally decided that she wasn't ready to be there, and then she woke up, or came back, whatever.
! But, she was ever so excited about going back, someday. Hoopty doo.
All in all, I thought this book was a joke. if this was supposed to be a representation of heaven? I, for one, am not interested, at all.

The idea of "heaven" is merely an inconvenient inclination that humanity has that keeps them from thinking. If people believe that there is an afterlife, their life on earth won't matter as much, so they can trash the planet or subjugate themselves to a ruler because eternity waits. Also, religious organizations say that you can be happy forever if they just do everything they say. Usually giving the organization absolute power. Also, there's no proof of heaven, so why believe in one.

When it comes to the after life, the Atheist knows that his/her future is bleak.. Who wants to think about bleak things? They tell themselves there is no such thing as an after life so they can find some comfort and not think about it. An Atheist keeps on looking and looking some more, to try and find a reason not to believe in God, heaven, hell, etc. They just want to try and fool themselves. I wonder why ALL religions believe in an after life of one kind or another. Could it be because there is something to it? I think so. It's too bad an Atheist doesn't believe in Heaven. They will change their mind when it is just one breath too late,

Because all those airplanes and space shuttles have never happened across it.
Every culture has had its story of a glorious afterlife; none are more valid than any other. When we die, we cease to exist. Any concept to the otherwise is wishful thinking.
Do your living, your loving and your good works HERE and NOW -- it's the only chance you have to make it count.

Most atheists here appear too materialistic to consider spiritual things, let alone the things of God. It's really just a matter of choosing to close their eyes to the true beauty of being human beings.

A book is not evidence that an afterlife exists. I do not believe in any afterlife because there is no evidence that supports the existence of any afterlife. Same reason I don't believe in some god.
No matter how touching stories can be, they are not evidence.

It appears you enjoy fairy tales. That is fine, I do too, I just remember they are fairy tales. What kind of evil god would turn a non-believer into worm food? That must be a very unkind and very unloving deity. I would rather be worm food than serve some evil being as you describe.

Atheist just means that you don't believe in a God. Some atheists believe in other super natural things. I don't really see how your argument that we should because everyone else does seems reasonable. If everyone felt that way, we would still think the earth is flat.
