Yes, Mary's actions embarrassed her soon to be Husband. Even though he could have had her stoned, he did not know it was God's will at this time, but he was going to show her mercy and his love for her was very great and I am sure he was very hurt over the betrayal. Then he found out the truth and was more than proud to be sure. He knew he loved a wonderful girl and then to find out she trusted God so much that she would risk her life must have made him proud and humbled that one such as that could love him.
I must point out that God did not have to have intercourse with Mary or she would not have been a virgin. So, when Mary and Joseph did come together, much later, Mary was pure and undefiled and their marriage bed was pure.
Most counselors today are not Christian or have even the slightess notion of religion and God. I am sure they would tell Mary to do what she wanted to with her body and Joe to live with it and if he could not he was not a real man and did not love her.

If Mary was a real walking-talking individual, (and she probably wasn't,) all that she did was cop the common plea of the day, "I don't know how it happened... I'm a virgin."
Her story is no different than some of the modern-day stories, like the, "I got it from a dirty toilet seat," plea, or the, "I drunk and I got raped," plea.
And as for Joseph, (another pretend person, most likely.)... He would just have been a schlep who stepped in to save the family reputation and perhaps pick up a goat or two as part of the arrangement in addition to taking full ownership of a young healthy wife with a healthy male child that might one day become a reasonably skilled carpenter or at least a half-witted herdsman.
( If y'all are going to get so hung-up on made-up stories, you ought to consider reading the some of the better authors. )

Joseph wasn't her husband yet. They were only engaged. He was concerned, of course.
In those times and in that culture if he exposed her pregnancy and said he didn't do it she could have been stoned to death. He decided to go ahead and marry her and then get a quickie divorce. That would spare her life and allow her to go be with whatever man had gotten her pregnant.
Then God sent an angel in a dream to let Joseph in on the plan. He was fine with it after that. More than likely he was highly honored to be given the resposibility he was given.

We're talking about GOD, not "some other guy" getting her pregnant. She wasn't married to Joseph when the angel told her she was going to give birth to Jesus. Mary accepted it as God's will, and so did Joseph when an angel appeared to him, and told him about God's plan.
Mary didn't "let" God do anything. God told her what He was already doing, and she accepted it. What God wants to do, God will do.

I don't think Joseph would have minded seeing it was the son of god and all. And I think Joseph would have done the same thing if he wasn't a man...

Not after God's angel explained the son was to be the Messiah. A truthful explanation cures a lot of things.
He already loved her and stayed in love by having other brothers and sisters to Jesus. It had to have been interesting to have Jesus as your big brother.

If you read the Book, dear one, you'd know that Mary didn't "let" God be the father of her son. God CHOSE Mary. She was merely an obedient young Jewish woman.
God bless!

I would say that since she was a virgin and pure, then Joseph was not embarrassed. He obviously stuck by her long after Jesus was born. Since Jesus had brothers, I doubt that Joseph was fazed.

actually weren't they married? i am told that the folks advised joseph to have her stoned for having relations with another man. not that any of this has anything to do with your question.

first of all marriage was ordained of God.
and even though the catholic church denies the marriage of jesus, there are others that prove jesus was married.
it is written that jesus went to be baptized of john the baptist to fulfill all righteousness. this included the commandment of marriage which is hte first commandment in the jewish tradition.
as for reading the scriptures of the nativity, joseph thought for sure Mary was already 'embarrassed' because he intended to put here away privately so that she would not be stoned.
he took mary to wife to fulfill the will of God as the words of hte angel spoke to him.
