Obey is a bit strong. No I don't. I believe its nice for a woman to know and show her abilities as not only a woman of love and passion, but as a individual thinker.

I believe the Man is to be the head of the house and the spiritual leader.
The Bible says that the wife is to be submissive to the husband, as long as it is nothing going against God.

Ephesians 5:22 and Colossians 3:18

That does not mean the wife is the servant or not "equal" to the man.
History tells us that this was normal about 30 years ago, until the woman's movement came along and a lot of things were changed.
God is the same yesterday, today and forever.

1 Peter 3:1 -Likewise, ye wives, be in subjection to your own husbands; that, if any obey not the word, they also may without the word be won by the conversation of the wives;

If a household is divided, it cannot stand.
There can only be one head of the house, that does not mean either that wives have no say so in anything, we do.
The man just makes the final decision.
If you are a Christian and a believer of the Holy Bible, this is right in God's eyes.

I think the women should be willing to follow the decision of her husband. In any situation, it is beneficial to have someone who can have final say. That said, I think the husband should listen to his wife and respect her opinion enough that he will listen to her more than he listens to himself when making subjective decisions. He should always take into account her desires, well being and feelings.

I don't say this, because I think that women are incapable of making correct decisions, but I think it should be this way by design, so a man can learn to listen to his wife, and so decisions can be made efficiently.

On the other hand, I think that in some situations were the wife does make the decision, the husband should be just as willing to obey her as she is to him.

The two are to become one in a relationship. Like in mind and Love.
It says in Corinthians that the man is to Love the women as Christ loves him.
This does not mean dominance or abuse, but working together in harmony. I believe that in crisis, a man should be strong and lead yet listen to the women as a help mate. If necessary the women can lead if the man can step off his high horse of ego.

yes

i believe the bible clearly defines the roles of man and wife.

however, this may have been a tradition only that was Agreeable to those who first made it. because of the needs of survival.

the key point is agreament!
if two people agree on their roles this generation can certainly change the biblical roles to fit their needs and survival.

but doing so is in fact usurping the words of hte bible and traditional marriage.

The man is the head of the family, but the woman is the head of the house as written by Paul

No. I believe a husband and wife should be EQUAL PARTNERS in their marriage. Sometimes my husband takes the lead on an issue, I take the lead on other issues, but always, we make the final decision TOGETHER. That is how it should be.

If that were the case in my marriage, we would be living in a cardboard box and eating doritos every night for dinner. I think who ever has the smarts to run a household and has a better financial head on their shoulders should be the lead person, but in todays marriages it's a lot of give and take. I happen to be more level headed financially and have a better knowledge of how things work than my husband, but that's just us. But if we need answers to history or WoW, he's the one to ask.

The thing with polls is that they seldom take into account the kind of people that would answer them, which consequently makes the results rather useless.
