Everyone fighting for the spoils in the religion which becomes the biggest enterprise launched when Judah Ha Nasi handed the Biblical documents to the Greeks. You do not have to manufacture in order to sell, and you do not have to actually say the people are paying for anything...Imagine, one of the founders of Jehovah's Witness was not even a member, and even Jews backed the 'project'. Are we getting the idea?

Suppose you have to travel from Laos Angel es to Seattle. You are so many options to choose. You can take a direct flight or you can do break journey , or you may drive, you may go by Train or even walk etc .

The destination is same how soon you would reach there depends on the route you take.

Similarly GOD is one but based on our own understanding we accept different routes to reach Him.

There should be one and only one religion which should talk about soul realization where the soul can be free from material bondage and lead a problem free life.

Every religion is backed by philosophy as with out a philosophical clear understanding it is hard to follow any religion blindly. You can progress to some extent but over the period of time things become dry.

So, to be a follower of any religion we should have our ABCDs clear.

A- for association. So that we get encouraged by others
B-Books. To understand the philosophy to strong our faith
C-Chanting. To talk and glorify about the transcendental qualities of the Lord, to purify our senses
D-Diet. To eat food that are healthy and does not enhance mode of passion and ignorance.

If we have our ABCDs clear it does not matter what you follow as you know for sure you are connecting to the Supreme Personality Of Godhead and working in pleasure of Him not for the self pleasure of yourself.

There’s so many because people are relying on private interpretation instead of on the guidance of the Catholic Church for those interpretations. They all claim “inspiration” from the Holy Spirit, come out with different beliefs, and yet each claims to be right. So which one is? They can’t all be right.

This is why we have the Church. She preserves unity of faith and belief, as Christ intended. We are to be one, as Christ and the Father are one.

To Wisdom - how does your logic make any sense? You state yourself that the dissensions were the fault of men’s opinions. Were their opinions right? If so, which one?

The Church did not try to discourage people from reading the bible, as you accuse. She was trying to preserve the Faith. Going back to the original question, men’s opinions is what fractured everything. So then, if the Church isn’t right, as you say, then who is?

God is one, infinite, omniscient, omnipotent ... however man (man as in human, not male) is limited. Each man has a different perspective, set of experiences, karma, strengths and weaknesses.

The various paths seek to attune man's mind to the infinite. The same person may be better suited to path A as a youth and find path B a better alternative as he grows.

I like to compare praying to working out (a spiritual workout, if you'll pardon the lame cliche). Depending on your body type, friends, fitness goals and personal inclination - you may choose to run, lift weights, go for a class or take salsa lessons.

We need to follow whichever aspect of God we can wrap our minds around. God is infinite and does not care if you call him/her/it a man, woman, formless ghost, mother nature etc.. He is male and beyond male, female and beyond female.

The important thing is to pray to God with love, see everyone as a child of God and therefore your equal, and finally help any child of God that needs help. All religions stress these points in one way or the other.

The various religions and denominations are just the alternative perspectives, which add to the rich mosaic of human culture. Let a 1000 flowers bloom as it were. Relish the wonderful diversity, but pick whichever works for you.

I think it is human pride more than anything else. Man wants to think that they can create a Church better than the Church created by Christ. A large part of this is the fact that humanism says to man that God should serve man instead of the Biblical teaching that man serves God. As a result we see a syncretic blending of secular humanism with Christianity in the Protestant reformation creating a new Gospel.

Christ's prayer is that we be one in His Church and we should all pray that all Christians come home and reconcile with His Church.

Mankind translates His word differently. The only important part for Christianity is that you believe Christ is the Son of God, but people get caught up in the little things, like the method of worship, so they decide they can't worship together in the same building.

It's all different flavors of the same thing really.

Multiple denominations came through dissensions in the Church's. Men's opinions caused followings to break off from the originals.
These came about as men read the new printed bibles, and realized what they had been taught wasn't correct.

Years ago the Catholic church didn't want people reading the bible.............because they found the truth.

There is one true and living church on the earth today. The rest are the best interpretations that men could make of the Bible with the truth that they have.

Because religion has nothing to do with spirituality. Spirituality is all inclusive, and religions are exclusive. religions are based on strict doctrines or dogma. Spirituality is your personal relationship with GOD, the creator, Spirit that lives in all things, whatever you choose to call it.

Because God is more diverse then the whole universe but humans have a hard time understanding this so he had to teach different groups different things.
