I don't give a damn if I write "adult" or "grown-up" as long as you get the message right.

Some are innately smarter, but generally speaking, the average adult is "smarter" than the average kid. Compared to their respective age groups, however, the average kid and the average adult are equal, with IQs of about 100.

I, however, at age 16, like to think I'm smarter than most adults. :-P

Kids are learning things in school everyday! Grownups learned that stuff so many years ago that they have forgotten a lot of it. If you define smarter as more knowledgeable about useless trivia than the answer is yes! A grownup usually is more mature, responsible, and practical than a kid though.

Young children are honest and completely accepting of others. They learn prejudice and intolerance and hatred as they grow - from the people who are supposed to be the 'grown ups'!

not really. that depends. but kids aren't supposed to be smarter than grown-ups. and also it depends what kind of smart you mean. if it's like school smart or everyday life smart?

That depends. Kids are clearly more imaginative, creative, and open-minded. However, they are also naive and less educated. Adults are more educated, and have gained more wisdom through experience.

I think most of them are. nowadays they know so much more than I did when I was their age and they do things I wouldn't be able to either because I couldn't or wasn't let to. I think it has to do with the changes we're experiencing, the newer generations are evolving, they are more fit to live here.

They are a lot smarter. That's why we need to educate/indoctrinate them.

When we have them as confused as we are we give them a diploma and start calling them adults.

Maybe some. I know some very intelligent high school kids, and some really immature, dumb@ss "adults".
