I've got the ingredients ready to make some but I've over estimated how much I need. I was wondering whether butter can be frozen, as I can't use unsalted for anything other than brandy butter. Many thanks.

You're very good, making your own. You obviously have far more patience than I do. Mine comes from Tesco, I'm afraid!

Anyway, to answer your question. The other year I froze some I'd bought, and it was absolutely fine when I took it out. So, I'd go along with everyone else above and say, yes, it can be frozen.

Have a great Christmas, and enjoy the pud and brandy butter.

Hi there!!!

Butter can be frozen quiet nicely, but what you should know is that actual alcohol does not freeze. So it will be mostly frozen, but depending on the amount of brandy it may appear less solid than your typical butter. All other ingredients will freeze though, thus preserving it as much as you would need to.

Also unsalted works delightfully in all sorts of baked goods... so you could always just freeze that and use it for later, you never know when it will come in handy.
