or is that just something you do for you birthday or wedding? Well since i'm no longer a kid. Is it bad to make a wishlist to give to my friends, siblings and brother in law? Or is the Christmas gift suppose to be something they choose for me that they think will be nice? I haven't gotten a wishlist from any of them, so i'm wondering what i should do. i'm also having trouble finding a gift for them. i hate shopping for gifts

In my family we always ask each other for wishlists before Christmas, even though we're all adults. It makes it so much easier to find gifts for each other, when we actually know what each one in the family wants/needs.

I think it would be ok to ask your family/friends for their wishlist. If they ask you for one too you could give it to them. I think it may come across as kind of weird, possibly rude, to just give them your wishlist without them asking for it, but if they ask for it there's no problem. When you ask for theirs I guess some of them will want yours in return anyway.

Good luck finding nice presents for them.

Wishlist belong with Santa Claus unless someone ask you for one. I think unless someone ask you for a wishlist you shouldn't create a list of things you want. Now if someone ask you for ideas then you can provide them with a list but nothing insane. Christmas really is about caring and giving. So a list kinda contradicts that.

What we do in my family is ask people to give us a list of what they desire for Christmas. And put a spending limit on the list like $25 so that we do not spend too much. And everyone buys for the children. So tell them you need a list from them on what they would like or need or want. And state to them that you would like to limit your spending. Hope it works.

Any Idea which stores they like to shop at most. Get them a gift card. That way , you get what you want. After the Christmas Rush. .. It's a win win.

In my family we take the guessing out by just telling each other what we would like! We give a couple of ideas so it's still a surprise when we open them!!

I have always forbidded my kids from doing that. I think it teaches selfishness and greed instead of the giving spirit.

Well I have always made one for my mom and sister to use and this year my fiance's mom asked for one too. I think if you ask them for one, then they will also ask you for one. You could always drop hints... I did that last year a lot!
