It is sad and unfortunate that any "Christian" or Christian organization would endorse such an evil invention as Harry Potter. The Bible clearly condemns any type of involvement with the wicked works of witchcraft. I was saddened to learn from one of my faithful web visitors that Christianity Today magazine was endorsing Harry Potter. I looked into the matter myself and it was confirmed. Below is one such article on their website. If you'll simply perform a site search on Christianity Today's website under "Harry Potter," you'll be sickened as any God-fearing Christian should be. Harry Potter is evil and we should not endorse such wickedness.

Bring out your Dead!
Bring out your Dead!
Oh sorry I was just setting my mind clock, what was it? dark ages yes, Witches, warlocks, and wardrobes or something!
Oh yes ducking stools, a good old burning at the stake and a bit of torture just for good measure.
No we can't be havin' all that! These young minds might then go on to read much more dangerous books like the lord of the rings!
And may the omnipresent forces help us! If people start to understand the truth within the covers of that book!
No, no, no Young minds must be formed reading only the version of the book that is chosen for them.
What type of world would it be if people could think freely?
ADDED Bruno you are just too subtle!

Harry Potter books are not a manual on how to turn your neighbor into a goat. It is a fantasy story meant for entertainment. This anal retentive narrow mindedness about Harry Potter is why non believers think us Christians are intolerant morons.
Harry Potter is as much as an evil witchcraft manual as Star Trek is a NASA tech manual. It's only entertainment !!!!!
Lighten up !!!!!!

yeah well if you can believe it. In some places even the Bible is being banned where it never used to be banned before. Like in court rooms. Even judges are not to cite scripture when sitting on the seat and presiding over a case.
So I suppose it works both ways.
Also Jesus gave many parables about life. What would have happened if he was censored for preaching truth through stories?

... you are psychotic. Is this for serious? Get help.
YOU are an evil invention; Harry Potter is a book. One of the only books that makes kids want to read. Please, calm down. I respect religion, but people like you make me doubt that I should.
People like you... ugh. I'm sorry, but good Lord, please be more accepting before you condemn everything that goes against your beliefs.
how do you live with yourself? you must be incredibly annoying. Let christians endorse whatever they want, sit down and be quiet. Have your outrageous beliefs, be a kill-joy, but don't condemn others and expect to go uncondemned. You're free to say what you want but know you're not garunteed agreement... and... people like you start wars.
peace on, and love each other.

I think you should focus on real issues. How about murder, starvation, hypocrisy, or homelessness.
Literature cannot be harmful... oh wait... I forgot, the Bible along with so many other works of fiction have led people to murder and persecute others. When the Harry Potter series leads people to carry out such things in the name of Harry Potter, then worry.

You know, Harry Potter is, at the core, a Christian allegory.
Good triumphing over evil...ooh...the heathens.

Agreed. A young girl I visit in prison asked for the latest Harry Potter book for Christmas... [She is 21 but has the mind of a 12 year old due to a disability] I lovingly advised her that would be like giving her a Ouiji board for Christmas - I can not do.

I find that web site incredibly wrong. There is nothing wrong with witches or witchcraft, and there is nothing wrong about Harry Potter. I think it is "sad" that anyone would buy into this web site's babble and malignant rhetoric.
