This is maddening, and I have taken to 2 dealerships who have charged me the minimum and cannot identify the problem. Once of twice a day, it will not crank. Lights come on, radio, windows roll up and down, but it will not crank. Usually, after anywhere from 15 to 40 minutes, it cranks. The problem is when I take it in, the shop tells me "we couldn't get it to not crank". I have a feeling they tried a couple of times, and then did nothing else. I had one shop remove the anti-theft system. Have read about the park/neutral safety switch, and consider that a possibilty. Just don't know where to start. Anyone have any ideas or similar experiences?

Loose wire on solenoid, dead spot in start position of switch, gear shift sensor bad (thinks it's in gear),

Could be other problems. Good luck.

I would suggest that there another area is the brake sensor. I believe that to start the vehicle with the anti-theft system, you must place your foot on the brake. Could be wrong, though. I would think that the anti-theft system is your problem. Good Luck.
