my dog seems to sense when when husband is about to pull into the driveway long before he even does. Do dogs have ESP? or do they have really good hearing?

my dog knows the sound of my husbands car. He can be over a 1/2 mile away (not too much in between road and my street) and the dog will start to get restless. My husband is not on a set schedule so this does not seem the case.

1. Dogs have better hearing than us

2. Dogs have vastly superior sense of smell

3. Although they often exhibit short term memory loss i.e get of the bed, they can learn behaviours and if your husband is coming home at the same time every night then the dog will be listening out for sound or smell at the appropriate time.
