After all the recent TV ads from this company i just wondered that if they did they knew that quite a number of their products come from other countries such as Thailand,Brazil and Poland ( mainly chicken products ) and i wondered about the traceability of these products as far as production and hygiene are concerned as well as food miles, also whats wrong with British meat?
So mums,if you do go to Iceland will you be more concerned where the food comes from? I admit we shop there and most of the products are fine but why do they need to use foreign sources for their products, food for thought?

i suggest you read them, they are true.

Iceland do sell british meats, not much of it at all admittedly but did you know their food products such as chicken dippers are made in the same birdseye factory just different labels>?

lol allot of mums do shop in iceland yes, some people bring their mum shopping lol.
Not allot of people are bothered about where their food comes from in bigger supermarkets if they are thinking about price, and pretty much iceland is just supplying the cheapest meat they can so they can sell it cheapest: that is why mums go to iceland.
They don't have the money to go buy british meat from another supermarket or butchers, they don't have the transport to get there whereas most iceland stores are located in city centres and they deliver so it is easier, again, reasons why mums go to iceland.

I don't shop there allot though because we go to anywhere really that we are close to at the time we think we will go shopping and dad hates driving into the city.

Good question - no I don't go there because too much of their food is processed. However, you're right about the distant provenance as well. Outside our Iceland in the Holloway Rd is an excellent fruit and veg stall which gets most of my business, also the Kosovan Nut Seller in Nags Head (cheapest nuts for miles)

I've been to Norway, next year I'll be in Alaska, but still have not managed Iceland

Only lazy people go to iceland...it might be cheap, but there is a good reason for that.

Far better just buy fresh meat, fruit and veggies and make your own healthy meals, free of additives and the such like.

I dont think I have ever bought anything in Iceland and neither had my mum.

Mum goes to Iceland because she can't afford to shop somewhere decent as daddy is spending all of the family money on reacharounds in Thailand.

I have on the odd time bought items there.I never get anything frozen or meat. The last time I was getting a few thing and while waiting at the till queue I worked out the bill, when it was scanned, it was a higher price. On questioning this, two items was overprice despite the fact the price was a part of the package. They didn't seem that surprised. That probably why they are not targeting people like me in their adds.

Iceland was the first UK retailer to ban GM ingredients from own-label lines, and don't use artificial colours and flavours in own-label products.

No this mum, I only do fresh for my family, plus the local Iceland always looks grotty and dirty, doesn't exactly inspire you to buy food.

My Mum would have a hairy fit rather than go into one of those places! She is a good home cook!
