I think that a lot could and I'm sure that there are lots of citizens that wouldn't pass too.
Any idiot with an hour to study could pass that thing though. I don't think it's a big deal if your a citizen whether you could pass that test or not.

Since I havent studied any of that information in 20 yrs, I would probably fail today. It might further lead to failure that they have changed the facts in the history books etc. since I was a kid. However, given the materials needed to study/pass, I most certainly would have no problem passing this test. Any illegal worried about passing the test, better get studying. Since they are here illegally, why dont they make use of tax payer money and hit a library!

I don't know what they do now but it was required when I went to school to pass tests on the US Constitution and your states constitution before you could graduate. I've taken the test for fun and passed it. Sometimes I wonder if they teach as much history and such now as they did when I was in school because I am surprised so many don't know basic things. Thing is though....a citizen born here grows up and learns things and has a basic understanding what our rules, laws etc are. Who were prominent historical figures, wars etc. Someone immigrating here usually doesn't. I don't know the history of South America or anything about their judical system etc. To me it would be common sense to want to know the history and such of a country you were going to especially if you plan to live there.

That test is a breeze, I shudder to think that any American with a high school education couldn't pass it! The truth being though, we don't have to, I just took it for fun! Very basic! Of course our schools aren't what they used to be due to the dumb down beating we've taken due to illegals.

American born US Citizens do not need to pass a test. Those wishing to live here need to pass the test. The test merely shows a commitment to become Americans.

No-- If you are testing adults. But I would guess that most 5th graders could pass, because elementary school is where we learn a lot of that information.

I helped a friend study for her test. It's pretty straight forward but I know that there are some native born people who would have trouble with it.

I've heard it stated that 60% of young (adult) Americans cannot even find New York on a map. I suspect that this is indeed a fact, a very sad, fact. No. I doubt that most could pass it.

Anyone who didn't daydream through high school should be able to pass the test easily. Most of the questions are common sense.

Why should we take this test anyway? We are not here illegally we are here because our ancestors did things legally. They obeyed the rules and regulations to become citizens. That is our heritage.
