British scald the milk and then pour equal amounts of scalded milk and boiling water into a teapot to steep the tea in. Actually, I grew up putting milk in tea and can't drink it any other way. So all you really need to do is lower your sugar quantity. Say one tsp instead of two or three. Or you could steep your tea quicker so it doesn't get so strong. Splenda is alright (use 1/2 the amount of sugar) and isn't that bad taste wise. Actually from a medical standpoint the artificial sweeteners are worse for you than just plain old sugar is.

The British use lemon in Earl Grey. But if you want a tea that you can drink w/o sugar, try a tea from Ceylon(Sri Lanka), they are naturally sweet, I personally like the "Heladiv" brand. U can find and buy this brand and others from Niwasa.com, they have a really good selection.

I use one Splenda or a lot of lemon.
Or drink flavored herbal tea - like lemon or orange. You don't need much, if any, sweetner in those.

I LOVE tea! I used to drink it with sugar as a child, but I then grew to love it plain. You can also get those flavored teas (i.e. Cinnamon, etc). Or, try "Sugar in the Raw." it is organic sugar, a bit expensive but tastes great. It also doesn't give you that "energy then crash" experience like with regular sugar.

Sugar..... Y!A should fix that spell check feature. Ok... artificial sweeteners... some have aspartame in them, which is not good for us. Splenda does not, so it's better for you, and it measures exactly like sugar. The other artificial sweeteners are 2 teaspoons per packet. Splenda is one teaspoon Organic sugar tastes better than regular sugar, and is about 50% less processed (still processed... just less), and maybe a little healthier, but it's still sugar.

Not knowing the teas you buy I suggest buying the best quality tea. Stash make excellent teas.
Also--watch the steeping time---------most don't steep correctly--either too long or not enough time due to lack of patience.
Tea can be great but like anything it begins with teh quality of the ingredients.

Try Splenda. It is made from sugar, but has no calories. You won't be able to tell the difference in taste.
You would have to consume ridiculous quantities of Equal, Sweet & Low or Splenda before you would cause yourself any harm.

You could use some lemon to take place of that or have citrus tea. Or maybe use splenda.

sugar in the raw and organic sugar is still sugar. it still has all the calories.
