I'm not a super religious person, but I think I can maybe answer some of your questions. First of all, God didn't write the bible in a physical sense. I'm pretty sure it's more "the word of God" meaning that he 'spoke' to people and they wrote it down. Of course everything anyone reads is a translation of hebrew. Not to mention the fact that if God spoke to someone, it's their interpretation of what he said.
As far as the God kicking adam and eve out of eden, it was a test. They were told specifically that they could live there as long as they didn't eat the apple. They knew about the deal before they were kicked out.
Floods - there is evidence of large floods in several places in the world. Flood myths are a part of almost every culture in the world, so maybe there really was a big flood. Also, I've heard that he was getting rid of all the sinners in the world. I'm not sure about that one, it seems to me that not EVERYONE was a sinner...but whatever.
God created people in his image, not with his personality.
Pain and suffering...I don't know, but consider this: If everyone was happy and pain free all the time, that would become the norm. If everyone was happy, there really wouldn't be any happiness. In order for someone to feel happiness, they must have felt sadness at sometime...just some food for thought.
Again, I'm no religious expert, but I've thought about this sort of stuff before. And no one really knows if the bible is true or not. For all we know it might have been some old story that was eventually written down and someone found it and thought it was real.

The answers are from my own interpretation and my limited understanding. God wrote the bible through the hands of human. This is much like putting visions into the minds of the authors of the bible.
God kicked Adam and Eve out because they were disobedient. And the apple wasn't an apple, but the fruit of knowledge. If you are the commander in chief, and your soldier disobeyed your orders, what would you do?
As for the flood, some say that there are evidence of the flood actually happens, but other are skeptical. To me, there has to be a certain amount of faith in one's believe. To most people seeing is believing and by asking this question you belong to the seeing is believing! Can you see air? No, but does it mean that there is no air? Can you feel air? yes when there is wind, isn't it? Another example, do you see the architect of the big tall building signing his name and puttng signs to say he built it? The world is this big tall building... and God is the architect.
Love is what God is all about, and the love we understand is only a small subset of Love that the bible speaks about. Read the bible to find out for yourself. This is a personal journey and of course the almighty is always there, whether you need him or not.
People do evil things because they chose to. God gave us freedom to choose, some chose to do bad while other good.
There is pain and suffering so that we would learn to be strong and God can be gloried, and it is in pain and suffering that we see hope, we see friend coming together. Remember the Tsunami in Indonesia? Yes, many died, a lot more suffered. But did you see the world coming together? The world was like united regardless of race, language and religion?. Could you imagine a world without pain and suffering?
my one cent worth!

Churches rarely reject parts of the Bible. They usually understand John 14:15 "If you love Me [Jesus], you will keep My commandments" so they approach the study of the Bible with the understanding that they need to follow God. - Even if this means having to accept some things they may not want to. The problem lies in interpretation. Humans are not perfect and we interpret the Bible differently. No person (and therefore no church) 100% knows the exact meaning of every passage in the Bible so churches form different opinions. The question isn't wether or not they 100% believe the Bible because they love God and want to keep all his commandments. The question is WHAT they believe. If you're looking for a good denomination to attend, you're doing great if you find a church that is Bible focused (reads from the BIble at service; consults the Bible when questions arise; promote reading the Bible individually...). There are churches in every denomination that do this so you'll just have to look around. A denomination called "Bible Churches" are pretty common now and their mission is to be Bible based. You might consider one of those. I personally would stay away from Catholic churches since they tend not to be as Bible based as your typical Baptist church (although there some that certainly do a great job).

You have the wrong Idea about God! It is not God that has caused such suffering here on earth. It is Satan. Let me here give you some insight.
All of the angels were before God when he created the known universe, our planet, and Adam and Eve. When the most beautiful cherub was given the task of helping Adam and Eve to fulfill the mandate that God gave them. He (Satan) for what ever reason decided that he should be worshiped and that only he had the right to rule over the earth. He made this apparent before all of the angels that had stationed themselves before God. So God instead of killing him, He let Satan do his will to prove to all angels and man that he (Satan) is wrong. This is a loving thing to do. So all of the suffering that you see now is not the work of God, but the work of Satan the covering cherub. God in his wisdom has provided all of mankind a way out of this situation. He sent his Son Jesus to earth to buy us. If we except Jesus as our Savior then we become son's of God. We are now living in the last days of Satan's system. Soon, and I do mean soon, Satan and his system will be destroyed and we will have the opportunity for everlasting life on a Paradise earth.
I have researched the bible for over 20 years and I have found it to be true and correct in every detail. The archeology finds, and the 100% accuracy of the prophecies have showen the the Bible is Correct. The Bible was written over a perioid of time by many different writers under the direction of the Holy Spirit. This fact, proves that God in his wisdom has given to us a book that testifies to the truth. What are the chances of such a thing?
You need to reasearch for yourself and then your viewpoint will change. Everything that Satan has done will be undone, and the grand purpose for our creation will be fulfilled. Then there will become evening and morning the seventh day and God looked and said it was good!!!

The reason for this is that some people cannot think for themselves and so they take and believe in any thing that is 'from God'.There are now large groups that are now beginning to think for themselves and that is a good thing to know.Over the next 150 years or so we will see the coming in of some very highly advanced souls who have the know how as to the construction of a new civilization that will be based on love and sharing, as well as a growing sense of self realization as to ones own inner divinity, for man himself is an emerging God in his own right.

Misinformation and lack of education.
When you try to live backwards - say 2000 years ago you just can't seem to get it together. Now why or how can that be? They were ignorant people to today's standards and really had no idea how man came about on this planet. To think man was made of dust probably did make sense to them OR to think there was a deity did make sense to them. These were nomad tribal peoples, uneducated and living off the lands.
To live by standards of 2000 years past makes no logical sense, forget the deity idea. It's not even a matter of proof, its simple logic. How can anyone today think in those terms, the language was different, the culture was different, living in houses and using cell phones was not even remotely thought of.

God is the only being that should ever be worshipped because that is his nature.
For Catholics the creation story is not literal, we believe that their were two original parents of man from which we all derive.
They were perfect and immortal and somehow they disobeyed God (it might not actually be from eating fruit from a tree or it could be something totally different.) which lead to their fall.
An offence against infinite majesty deserves an infinite punishment do you not agree.
I understand your condemnation of what you see as injustice in the world but that injusstice is do to humanities free will. God will never force himself on us, even to help us, it is an evil to force someone to love you.
I like to look at things in absolutes. Either God is real or he is not.
If he is not real then life is meaningless and their is no reason to be just or good to anyone.
If he is real then I know that 80 or so years of suffering is worth an eternity in paradise. Don't you agree?
But I have to take up my cross and earn it. All people return to the father, the only variable lies in when they do. Its up to each person to decide if they wish to choose to be with him or to be eternally seperated from him in the world to come.

God did write the Bible, centuries ago.
Over that period of time, people decided to "modify" the words to excuse their actions, and prove they are right.
All the prophets endure tests to help the descendents, to learn from they're ancestors' mistakes. When God created us, he created us pure. God gae all human beings something that he didn't give to his other creations; A CHOICE. Angels don't make mistakes, and animals don't have enough intelligence to keep up with us. It's our choice, to do evil. DO you honestly expect God to send us to heaven without a test?
without an exam to ensure our devotion to him?
He sent us directions, he gave us life, he gave us loving families, he gaves us so much that I honestly believe that we don't deserve it. He allows pain to teach us. If you were always happy, would you learn from your mistakes. Humans learn through fault and periods of time. Yes there are starving children who die, not only in Africa (people who say africa need to seriously stop being close-minded) there are starving people, oppressed people, poor people, people who have lost all purpose for living. God cares for them!!
Death isn't a scary place, death can open up eternal happiness for you, or eternal misery. For a pure child to die, a child who had a life full of misery, where do you think he'll go?
Its obviously heaven, children are pure, innocent and young WHY WOULD GOD SEND AN INNOCENT CHILD TO HELL!
Life is a test, it is your choice to believe
If you let your ignorance invade your clear conscience you will never know how merciful and gracious Allah(swt) is

you ask a lot of questions!
They are all good and need to be answered but this probably isn't the best forum for that.
There are lots of internet sites where you can go and find a lot of answers to these questions.
But the important thing to realize is that God Himself will reveal Himself to you if you seek Him and truly want to know Him.
Read the bible.. read read read. If you get to some passage you don't understand, just set it aside and come back to it later. Read the gospel of Mark, Luke, Matthew. Read the book of Acts. Read Genesis.
Say to God, "God, I want to know You. I want to know that You are real. I want to find you in this book!"
and if you pray sincerely and really desire the truth, God will reveal Himself to you.
email me!
god bless

God inspired men to write the Bible for him. The reason there is pain and suffering in this world is because of sin and the devil. God never promised a life without pain and suffering.
