Many French people are proud that Chirac didn't drag France into a war that has caused much bloodshed and suffering whereas the British lamely followed the US into a situation which, after hundreds of dead and wounded British military who have bravely done their duty(what have you done?), can hardly be called a victory.
You seemed almost proud that theres been "major" terrorist atttacks on Britain, you're also probably proud that the only response the British police could come up with was to gun down a Brazilian tourist innocently waiting for a train.
France are actively engaged in Afghanistan but you won't find hundreds of pathetic films on "Youtube" droning on about it. Only a week ago a close friend of mine died in action in that country so to all those people who call Frenchmen cowards get your facts right before you open your dirty mouths.
As for moslems in France, which many of you seem to think are a big problem in France .I live in a town where there are many and don't feel threatened. I'm not racist (or liberal or any of those other political labels you creeps like to use when you're afraid)or small-minded as you Brits can be, I just live quite normally with the people around me.Of course there are problems as France has it's fair share of reasons why terrorists and radical factions that try to carry out attacks on French soil but we still have one of the best counter-terrorist , and one of the best police forces in Europe and they do their job efficiently.

What do you mean? You really haven't noticed?

What was all that nonsense last summer about? Ever hear of the Red Army? They were responsible for several terrorist acts in France back in the 70's. They even assassinated French politicians and leaders. The truth is EVERY war France gets involved in we bail them out. See Viet-Nam, and WW 1 & 2.

And if they did join us in Iraq we'd have to spend all day baby sitting then. They have no military strenght. that is the point of the European Union. Strong countries like Germany can carry the weak financially, and militarily

During the Algerian crisis in the 50s the rebels threatened to drop a plane on Paris. This obviously was long before 9/11. However the French, being French managed to avoid it. Of course, the Americans had no warning.

For all you anal retentive anti French Folks a few facts and figures with regards the French in WW1 and WW2:

Poland folded, Holland folded, Belgium folded, yet you can only moan about the French!!!

French casualties in WWI:

World War I cost France 1,357,800 military dead,

4,266,000 military wounded (of whom 1.5 million were permanently maimed).

and 537,000 made prisoner of war and missing

-- exactly 73% of the 8,410,000 men mobilized, according to William Shirer in The Collapse of the Third Republic.

(Some context: France had 40 million citizens at the start of the war; six in ten men between the ages of eighteen and twenty-eight died or were permanently maimed.)

10% of the active French population and 3,5% of the total population died on the battlefields.

(As a comparison, if this were to happen now in the United States, the number of casualties would reach 10 million.
There would also be 680,000 widows and 760,000 orphans. )

Between 1914 and 1918, the drops in births in France is estimated at 1 million.

On the 22/08/1914: 27,000 French soldiers are killed on this single day in an offensive thrust to the east of Paris, towards the German borders.
(For the dumb people amongst you that's twenty-seven thousand Fathers, husbands, sons!!! think about if for a minute!!)

Regarding WWII, between 1939 (when war was declared by France and the United Kingdom) and 1940, 120,000 French soldiers died, not to mention the number of French citizens who died as war prisoners, forced labourers, deported civilians or in acts of resistance against the Nazis during the German Occupation. The amount of suffering occasioned by WWII in France is impossible to assess and should not be forgotten.

With regards current French Military Service, the French Airforce is on active duty in Afghanistan:

Since the beginning of November 2007, the Mirage led 8 ground attack missions. Almost one every three days. They are engaged in fairly high intensity. Some details:

- November 2, 2007:- Mirage Type 2000, dropped bombs GBU-12 and shoots gun against "enemy combatants" at Tarin Kowt.

(Note: The shooting cannon is probably the result of a F1)

- November 5, 2007:- Mirage Type 2000 and a F1 CR engage "enemy combatants" at the GBU-12 again tarin Kowt

- November 6, 2007:- new strikes, a Mirage Type 2000 and a F1 to Nowzad

- November 7, 2007:- Mirage Type 2000 and an F1 attacked with bombs a position Kajaki Dam and the gun "enemy base" in Tarin Kowt

- November 9, 2007:- Mirage Type 2000 drops a bomb GBU-12 on an "enemy position" Garnisir.

- November 16, 2007:- Mirage Type 2000 attack "enemy forces who engaged of the coalition troops"

- November 19, 2007:- Mirage Type 2000 strikes a target to bomb Musa Qaleh

- Nov 22, 2007:- M irage Type 2000 attacks to an "enemy mortar position" in Asadabad.

Almost every day, "Show of Force" missions take place: it is low-level flying, without shooting, to deter the enemy.

The Etats Majors explained that the decision not to communicate from Paris on strikes in Afghanistan was taken during detention by the Taliban of two French hostages in spring 2007.

I even have tried debating the Boriqueen, Dum Dum, and that they simply block me, this is incredibly an admission that they *do not* decide directly to communicate, when you consider that all it extremely does is make others unable to study my responses to their questions. so far I even have purely been to communicate 2-3 Republicans. the rest in simple terms refuse to communicate, one in simple terms pronounced they did not have time! to speak incredibly, the pubs indexed decrease than are oftentimes in simple terms too dumb to communicate. it incredibly is like taking photos fish in a barrel. some are actually not any doubt nevertheless infants, and easily don't have the data, yet others are people pushed insane by using own misfortune, or different travails of human adventure, so as that they are left with stable evaluations built on quicksand. the place is the Republican economist? the place is the conservative Climatologist? The Libertarian Historian? None right here. I even have had lots extra effective debates with people in different communities the place they make an effort to justify their evaluations with data and take time faraway from their video games to do genuine examine.

Very reluctantly ... and they made their position quite clear on what they thought about the rush to invade Iraq without giving sanctions and the UN Inspectors more time to achieve their aims.
