is it weird that i get upset everytime my boyfriend and i get something and he immediatly has to share it with his mom? like everything, we got a dog and he brought the dog over to her before he showed me. we got a wood stove, and she came over while i was at school. i feel like by her being involved in everything first, that i will be always be second to her. i don't have a chance to enjoy things or be excited about things because "we" cannot enjoy it together. it's always been enjoyed with her first and me second.

Sounds like he's got an oedipus complex. I've seen this before and it really can start to affect your relationship. It isn't right that you won't ever be able to make decisions, purchases, anything without his Mom being involved. Make him aware that he needs to grow up. You want him to have a good relationship with his Mom, but he's going overboard here, and yes, it's weird. Let him know how you feel about this because if he doesn't make some changes, then he's not ready to leave Mommie's nest and may never be. The guy I went through this with was in his late 40's and it was apparent he was never going to outgrow it. He couldn't cut a fart without calling Mommy & Daddy to let them know. Good luck with this one Hon.

Eew. You need to talk about this. He sounds like a real mama's boy, not very mature. But, you are not married, so he does not need to put you first. Why are you living together?
