I think the meaning of life is love.We should help everyone and everything.Without love, the world would end. Everybody has different callings, beliefs, and need to find what they're meant to do and who they are.The one think we share is that we all love somebody or something. We can make the world a better place by sharing our gifts with others and loving everyone as much as we love our family, friends,or even ourselves. Here's one of Thomas Henry Huxley's quotes:
We live in a world which is full of misery and ignorance, and the plain duty of each and all of us is to try to make the little corner he can influence somewhat less miserable and somewhat less ignorant than it was before he entered it.
Personally I believe in God. The Bible says we're here because God was lonely. In order to really believe in him and be satisfied with why we're here, you just have to have faith.I know it's hard and confusing, but it's worth it. You should visit a church or read the Bible for help.
I'm so sorry that you're going through this and feel this way. I really do believe that most people struggle with this some time in their life; I certainly have. I think you will find your answer in time. I hope that I've helped you. God bless you, and try to have a happy holiday season.

Here you go...correct answers:
"If there is a God, are we here just to worship him?"
Since the premise of your question is (in my opinion) false, the conclusion can be anything. So...if there is a god, then anything can be true.
"Why did God create the entire Universe for a tiny little spec of nothing called the Milky Way, for a tiny little spec of nothing which is our solar system, just for the damn earth."
If you believe in god...well, you don't have to believe god only cared about the milky way...just that he didn't tell us about anything else. There's a great story by Mark Twain, Captain Stormfield's Visit to Heaven....
"If there isn't a God why the hell is anyone here? Why the hell does the universe exist? For what purpose? Don't say it just is, cuz I don't want to hear that crap."
Can't handle the truth...? The concept of "purpose" is a human invention. It's an aspect of human emotion. It's not a part of the physical world.
"Why the f*** did I ever have to be born if life is meaningless? So I can reproduce and have children?"
That's not the WHY...that's just the mechanism that makes life continue.
"Is that my purpose? ...."
Also a good book on the subject...

Life is given to each of us as an opportunity. It is as if the higher power(s) that be are challenging, "I have given you life, now what are you going to do with it?" Everyone has a purpose, you have to find a niche that fits your personality and find a cause. Are you p.o.'ed at the world for not giving you a purpose or God for not making it obvious. It may take some time to fight the demons within, to filter through the standards put forth by our society, but in the end when you are standing before your creator whomever you choose, and you are prompted with a question like, "Why should you have the eternal bliss and sanctity of "Heaven", what did you do to change the world for the better, and was it for your own benefit or the world at large?"After you consider these, you should be able to better find your purpose.

Look back to Genesis. Man and woman were put here on the earth to take control over the earth and things on it. They were to fill the earth with children to expand that paradise Garden of Eden to cover the entire planet. To faithfully acknowledge God as their Ruler, they had only one law. To not eat of one lousy tree in the middle of hundreds of trees.
Not bad especially when today it is impossible for the most law abiding person to not violate at least one law every hour due to so many laws. Also think of it! The penalty for breaking the one law was death. Hardly a punishment if they were made to die after a few years anyway?
No. They would live forever as long as they obeyed. In perfect health as well. Able to do anything they were curious about for however long it took. Nothing would hurt them. No animal or plant would harm them.
Then they had to go screw it up for everybody. If only they had waited till they had a kid in that Garden. We today could still possibly be alright. But N-O-O-O-O!!!!!!!
Fortunately, as Joshua said in Joshua 23:14, " not one word among all the good words that God has spoken to you has failed." His streak continues on through tomorrow.
His original purpose there in Genesis will still be done with some of the people living today as participants. In Revelations 21:4 it says God will wipe out every [cause] for tears in their eyes and death will be no more, neither will morning nor outcrying, the former things have past away.

The purpose of life is very fluid. As for life in general, there is no purpose....it's a perpetual machine.
Now, for your life, the purpose is whatever you are doing now, and want to do later. If you are in the military, your purpose is to do your job and serve your country. But some military also go to school so they can do something else later...that is also a purpose. Then, we invest money while we work now so we can have a comfortable elderly life....also a good purpose.
Life is what you make of it, but you need to make it good because it's the only one we have and there's no second chance or after life. Ask your self this, will the things that I did make the people that were around me better off in life? Now that's a purpose.

The purpose of life is basic. Life is about life.
Life is about hopes and dreams and waking
to a day we've never seen before. If you choose
to worship God, then worship life. For those who
worship life, worship God. Even those who do
not believe in God.
Each of us are unique, special. In time, you
will discover just what it is, that makes you so
special.
Come spring of '08, the new Hadron energy
collider kicks into action. Scientists from around
the world will be on hand to watch "quarks"
(energy bits) collapse, explode, and reform.
This new technology will undoubtedly change the
way we see God, ourselves and our universe. Not
to mention "time & space." It might also put us on
the doorstep to real space travel.
If you can't find any of this exciting or stimulating,
my friend, you're just not paying attention.
My best to you and yours over the holidays.

The purpose of life is to create God. Life requires us to grow towards the point of knowing and being everything. Our children should be greater the ourselves. People will create everything people can imagine. Time is round by nature so it is pointless to argue were time began. Beginnings and endings of time are arbitrary. "there is nothing new under the sun". But if we can not find some beauty in the things of novelty like a black cat in litter full of white ones or things of symmetry like a sea shell or a pair of twins, then life has no purpose and we will die.

Well, different people say different things which is where religion comes in. I am Agnostic which means i am still looking for beliefs and i am not sure if their is a God. I think the best option is to live life to the full and enjoy yourself because know one knows the real answer why we are here. If you are that desperate i would ask different people their religions and then choose the one that fits with you. Thats what i am trying to do. Hope that helps.

Well, I believe our purpose in life is to live to our fullest and spend time being happy. If you contribute to the world and make it a better place, then we are helping other people live better and help them contribute. Although I don't think that happens very much because of all the hate in the world. I'm not a very religious person, but I do believe something happens when we die, weather it be good or bad, we know we lived life to the fullest, and that's something to be proud of.

Why am I here? What is the purpose of life?
These questions often spring from the frustration felt by a person whose daily activity fails to bring real satisfaction—and that is true of many people. Millions of others believe that the life course of each person is somehow foreordained by God. Is that so? If God indeed has some special purpose for you, no doubt you will want to know what it is.
Of all the books in the world, there is one that clearly says that it is inspired of God. As you would expect of a message that is truly from God for all mankind, this book is available in far more languages than any other book ever written. It is the Holy Bible. In it, the Creator of heaven and earth, God himself, reveals who he is and what his name is.
So, Ecclesiastes 12: 13 says this:
The conclusion of the matter, everything having been heard, is: Fear the [true] God and keep his commandments. For this is the whole [obligation] of man.
That is our purpose for being here.
