It's a phase that will pass with time and patience. Just don't forget that he's the child and you're the mom. Reassure him that no one is going to take you away from him, but be careful that you don't give in if he becomes too controlling or demading. You have to keep the upper hand, gently and lovingly of course. You're his mom and you know the difference between a healthy, natural attachment or controlling behavior that can escalate if he's given in to all the time. Right now it just sounds like he's being a normal 4 yr. old.

Now is the time to teach him that even though you are family..family members can be caring to others and share their experiences...It's all in growing into a viable and caring human being and it does not mean that you love him any less.

right now your his girl and he gets jealous when your paying attention to some else then him. i bet that happens even more when your talking to men. it is just a phase and he will out grow it.
