Each person and each tattoo are different. What may hurt real bad for one person may not hurt at all for teh next. I ahve 2 tatts on teh inside of my wrist and for both of mine they didn't hurt that bad. It was completely bearable! If anything at some points it burnt alittle like a sun burn.. Hope this help!

I had one over the whole front of my foot, and I have to say that yes, it did hurt! I have a high pain tolerance and because of this I expected this to be a 'walk in the park'. Some parts were worse than others [near the toes and ankle], and I've heard the wrist hurts less than the foot. While I was having mine done I was wishing I'd chosen something smaller! It is worth it in the end though. While it's happening you just have to remind yourself it'll soon be over and it will be worth it. If you really want a tattoo you'll get one regardless of any pain involved. If the thought of the pain stops you, then you didn't want one badly enough in the first place! Wouldn't want to lie to you though, they do hurt on boney parts of the body. Good luck!

I didn't find it to be painful, but my tolerance may be higher than yours, and the location of the tattoo really makes a difference.

If you've ever HEARD a tattoo being done, the buzzing sound it makes, it sorta feels like that, which sounds strange, I know. The best way I've ever been able to describe it is like a prickly sunburn. It hurts a little, but not bad. The inside of your wrist might hurt more, the skin is thinner there.

Everyone feels pain differently.
I've tattooed clients who said they could barely feel it at all,
and I've tattooed others who have thrown up and shake a lot.
It also depends a lot on the placement.
Fleshier areas don't hurt as much because there is more tissue,
but areas around bones, such as ribs or shoulders, can get rather painful.
Just make sure that you eat before you get your tattoo,
keep well hydrated, and don't have any alcohol or painkillers
beforehand because they are blood thinners.
Enjoy your new ink!

I have two tattoos on my feet, they are also filled in solid black, so I was dealing with pain for a little while.

I don't like pain, AT ALL!!

They say that the ribs and the feet are the two most painful spots to get tattoos, but really, it wasn't that bad. Sometimes I clenched the seat, and my palms got sweaty, it hurt worst near my toes. I didn't cry or anything. Most of the time I was talking to who I brought with me, and my tattoo artist, who was really nice as most are. I think if I can handle it, you and anyone can :)!!

Don't be nervous. It will sting. Be ready for it. The pain is not unbearable, even on a tender area like the wrist. The pain is kinda like a bee sting that doesn't stop....kinda. It's more noisy than anything. Just don't make any sudden moves if the artist hits a nerve...and they will hit a nerve or two. You could end up with your name and a long line going up your arm.

i was really scared and when he did it i was like "is that it" and the tattooist laughed at me he said a lot of ppl say that. the best way to describe the pain is scrape your fingernail really hard along your skin. it doesn't feel like needles at all. i found it helped to look at the tattoo designs on the wall and focus on them instead of the pain

I doesn't hurt as bad as you think it will. I thought it would be blinding pain right before my 1st one, but it was over before I knew it, you will probably get yourself so psyched up with how bad it will hurt that you will be plesantly surprised when it's not that bad.
