Well my son is about to be 3 in a few weeks and I want him potty trained by then. Everytime he tells me he has to pee i take him to the bathroom and take his diapers off and he always pees on the floor as soon as I do that. I don't know if he's being lazy or what but most of the time he just either goes in his diaper or he goes as soon as I change him or take it off. Anyone have any advice to potty train him easier?

Taking my son to the bathroom every time I went and waking him up around an hour or so after he's gone to bed worked for us. He was trained in about a week. I didn't make any big issue of accidents nor did I make him stand up to pee. Now he's 21 years old and his girlfriend appreciates that he "sits".
Good Luck

Well, first off congratulate him for NOT going in his diaper!. What about trying pull-ups or something that lets him feel a little when he goes....maybe it's just the drastic change in temperature that shocks his little body into peeing. Try offering little rewards for making it to the potty..like stickers of his favorite characters, make a chart and place gold starts for each time he 'goes'. Then after 10 stars, decide something little that he wants and go get it, taking him with, so he can talk about how you and he are getting a prize for him going potty. I did this and, I thought my youngest son was going to go to kindergarten in diapers!! This worked in 5 days!!

Just remember, don't punish him when he misses...just tell him that he'll get it next time. Praise, praise, praise!!

Good Luck

Take him to the potty before he has to pee. Maybe get those little targets that float. The boys are supposed to aim to hit them as they float in the toilet. If you make it a game he might want to pee in the potty more than on the floor.

First of all, get hime out of the diaper and into training pants.

Then there is a pretty good website http:

Third - I used bribery. Every time my son used the potty correctly he got a treat of some sort.
