Which Antilles?

The Dutch Antilles?
The Lesser Antilles?
The Greater Antilles?
The French Antilles?

None the less, there's usually about 3-4 newspapers in each Caribbean island.... There's about 30-40 countries & territories in the region so if do the math you can estimate how many newspapers there are. Every island in the Caribbean can be classified as one of the "Antilles" groups listed above.

However one thing you stated was you were wondering if any local newspapers picked up on a story? Generally the Caribbean newspapers pickup on stories from the outside the region 1-3 days later. Likewise most "outside" newspapers pickup on Caribbean news 1-2 days later. It is just the way the Caribbean news wire services work.

If something happens late in the day it might be printed in local Caribbean newspapers the next day, but if something outside the region happens it might take an extra day to be included in the Caribbean based newspaper. (It depends on the subject.)

Things tend to be faster if it is on TV.... If a bit of news is carried on CNN, or like CNBC, or one of the big news stations over Satellite then it may be aired over Caribbean radio almost immediately especially since the newsrooms of many Caribbean radio stations watch those channels during the day and would report it during their hourly news updates.

P.S.
The Caribbean Net News from the Cayman Islands had something today... 17-12-2007

Wow, that's an incredible story about Karla Leanne Hormolka/Teale.

She could be any where in the Antilles/Caribbean. It's a large area. I would think she would go somewhere they spoke french since she is from Canada and lived in Quebec. Maybe St Martin/St Maarten
Here is a link to thousands of newspapers on the web.

go to the West Indies list of islands and click each one. Some islands have 3/4 newspapers. Check Netherlands Antilles, that's where you will find St Maarten/St Martin newspapers. I would check each island's newspaper if you have the time.

Good Luck. I hope this helps. She may have changed her name again.)
