This is huge today, isn't it. Churches have a denominational "doctrine". This is apart for the Bible(or "Holy doctrine") This is supposed to "interpret" the Bible for the members of that particular denomination. I have found very few denominational doctrines that aren't simply a way of warping Gods' word to allow/condone/encourage their personal favorite brand of sin.

I don't think that it wasa really a Christian church or if it was it was an idea of who said it.
I am Catholic and never in church or wherever is taught what you said. The most imp[ortant thing in the Christian Church is
the Baby Jesus. Then comes the others. I know that to decorate some churches include otherrthings but NEVER saying that who do not have the Pumpkins is antichrist. I have never seen a Pumpkin or a Santa in our Catholic church.
Even at home, we are taught that the first place is a staue of a Baby Jesus and a crib and then we can add other decorations like a christmas tree, or santas. Jesus is the centre of Christmas and I'm sure that all Christian churches do it. On TV you can easily be mislead, telling you it ius christian while they won't be. They are the real antichrist, because they would be doing something against Christ. The antichrist is not a single person but all goes against the teaching of Christ. So, don't be mislead about it. Many who are not christians make use of the media for their own aims of trying to make Christmas a material feast and not a spiritual one, which reminds us of the coming to the world the Word of God made man just to be our justification and saviour.
Don't take head about it, when in doubt ask a real Chriistian and he will tell you. We are too bombarded with such things not to understand the real Christmas.
May you have the Spirit of Christ in you through these days and in all your life. God bless.

Don't generalize please. Your mistake is saying "Christianity" and including anyone who claims to be of the Christian faith. We do not do any of that at the church where I am a member.
Be careful of those on TV ~ most are way off into entertainment and drawing in the money so they live in luxury. Those who promote this kind of stuff are twisting God's word to accommodate their way of life so more people will be drawn in, assuming these "preachers" know and understand the word of God. They are no better than beggars on the street with a tin cup except these people draw in more money and live an extravagant life style on the poor people's money who give their last "mite", supposedly in the name of God.

The Early Church, some years after Christ asended into Heaven, let pagan worship come into the church, and it became corrupted. We as Christians around the world, won't take a stand for what is truth, cause we're afraid of what people might say or do..
The Anti-Christ are all people who deny Jesus Christ before mankind, whom God the Father hath sent... Jesus said, "If you deny me before people, I will deny you before my Father and the angels."
Repent for the Kingdom of God is at hand. The end is near. Give your hearts to Jesus Christ, and live eternally, before its too late. Today is the day of Salvation, do not harden your hearts, like our forefathers have done...in times past..

First off who exactly said that to not do that is anti Christ? Secondly these paganism ideas were popularized by false religious leaders such as Charles Russell (founder of the Jehovah's Witnesses) who I should point out claimed he knew dead languages. Later in a court room in Hamilton Ontario Canada he was forced to admit he couldn't even read the alphabet in those languages. You may want to question your so called experts who try desperately look for non issues to try and create a wedge and proclaim themselves as the "truth". Read the transcript of the court case for ourself. http://www.iclnet.org/pub/resources/text/apl/jw/jehwit34.txt

If that's what he was doing, he is an idiot. He was probably talking about "symbolism". I doubt seriously he was "preaching" that we should worship either pumpkins OR Santa. If you thought that, then you must have entirely missed the point.

Loads of the 'christian' symbols are pagan in origin. Most christians do not acknowledge this at all. But christianity is quite famous for being dogmatic, so it isn't surprising that the ignoramous that you saw should be so deluded.
