I wish to have real life words, not scripture, thanks
I like to get real life, basic words to use today to practice God's commands with, not old fashioned talk. so if you went to town today , to Walmart etc, and you talked like this :
a conversation full of grace, seasoned with salt,.........
please give me some exact words you might say to anyone; cashier, friend you run into, family, stranger, someone standing in line,
tell me something that happened yesterday and tell me how you talked with your conversation full of grace, seasoned with salt, For jesus lovers, I think you can wade thru this confusion I hope :) and help me OK ? always trying to do His will :)

Just as salt preserves and gives flavor to food so let what you say be that which builds up and makes others lives better

That is one reason why Bible are updated, because the words change menaing. You quoted out of the KJV and if you read an updated vesion you would find the word conversation is replaced by the word life. 400 years ago "converstaion" was not just with words, but was the entire message that you communicated through your words, your actions, your body language, your attitude. So what it says and means in newer versions of the Bible is that you let the way you live communicate grace to others (a giving attitude) with a touch of salt (a flavor to your life of compassion). So when you go into walmart don't shove someone out of the line, let them in in front of you. It has little to do with what you say. I suggest you get a NASBible.

Always make your words soft and sweet...you never know when you might have to eat them.
