I think men lives are just as tough as women however in society men are programmed to be strong and not complain. for example in our society a woman does not have to have a good job or be well educated to attract a beautiful mate but a man must. Men are expected to ask women out on dates which can lead to rejection or sexual harassment but women are not expected to go to date. Men must also pay for the date. Also men tend to be more likely to go to prison or be victims of violent crime (assault, kidnapping, armed robbery, or murder) if their poor as compared to woman. A woman who is poor can marry a rich man or sleep around for money. A man who is poor usually engages in criminal behavior such as selling drugs, robbing, which can result in a gang or vigilante type of killing.

Also, men have to be sportsy and macho, they can't complain about pain. They have to pretend to be pervs when around their friends to show that they're manly. They have to not participate in artisitic activities because then they're gay.

Women, however, being gay is hot. Women don't pay for tickets, dinner, etc., and they can mooch off of a man their whole life. Women do, however, have to deal with periods, waxing hair, make-up, body size, & more in different ways then men.

Men DO have it harder, but women are supposedly more "delicate" so what's hard for men is way to hard for a pretty little damsel.

I agree w/ you completely. People are so obsessed with keeping women safe that they are now hurting men's status, and they're now making men seem bad. Oh the irony of modern society.

Men and women suffer disadvantages in different areas. Health in general is a weakness for men. Health is a caring response this has always typically been the sector for women. This is a clear example of how role segregation is bad for women and men. Men are brought up to believe that a man is strong in the face of these problems, be adversarial towards each other and that boys don't cry. That means that A)Men have an averse attitude towards sharing feelings, women obviously have such a desire as they are typically socialised to be care-givers and B) Adversarial relationships with their peers mean that they don't support networks that girls do. That leads them to engage in self-destructive behaviors like aggressive suicide attempts(Some people don't seem to see that that the aggression that leads men to use a rope rather than pills is a social disadvantage in itself) and drug use.

Each sex is genetically engineered to fulfill its role in society. Both have tough lives but in different ways. In my opinion, women tolerate the toughness of life better than men but I am prejudiced since I am a woman. I've never walked in a man's shoes.

I don't know about all that ~ but, I can tell you one thing; this woman does the work of a man! I work outside the home, plus in the home. Not just dusting and vacuuming, mind you! I mow the lawn in the summer, and plow the driveway in the winter. My bf, who does not live with me, but will be here most of the time, using my water (I wash his clothes also), will not help out in any of the out door work, as he says: It's your house! I would say that he has it made. A lot of men would like this set up, I'm sure.

Very good insights (if a bit generalized) on western society. I'm a man, and my life sure is tough. I have to go to work everyday to pay the mortgage! Then I come home and it's, "fix the toilet!" or "give me some money!" Geez!

Yes. I would say so. But that's not an excuse to sell drugs or rob or vigilante killing! Gee whiz.

actually women life is harder, we men can support all those things u say with no problem, but women can't

and women suffer more, like mestruation, vulnerability for being women, pregnancy and baby delivery, and ppl say women always get sicknesses on their bodies(more than men)

I think both are as tough as they need to be, what makes them toughest is the decision on how to make it.
