The following was copied from a user response to another question here on Y/A:

"Satan has showed up at my door before in the guise of a man, wrapped in light who knew the Word of God... Unless you are completely grounded with Jesus Christ, it is not a good idea to break bread with him... Because, he will win."
______________

What do you think...?

The "completely grounded" part makes me laugh. Did Satan use the doorbell?

I can't....everyone has their own way of speaking styles... I can only ascertain "truth" by seeing more of that person's speaking, or by asking God, and, answers sometimes takes a while, so wouldn't have an answer for you right now. :)

However, whomever it was, the content message COULD be true.... we never know whom is "true" to the Lord or not, satan has a way of deceiving people into thinking he is GOOD...he IS the great deceiver and master of illusion...

However, recently the Lord pointed something out to me here at R&S and I wrote a Blog on MySpace about it.

While Jesus often spoke in parables, Jesus was a plain speaking man...and though God had "mysteries", God was a blunt, plain speaking God.

Does that help? :)

I'm quite sure the person didn't mean it litterally - if you want to take it as such though, I'm fairly sure it's not true at all.

Figuratively speaking, the answerer could have meant: "I know some people, holier-than-thou know-the-Bible goody-two-shoes first seeming like they were pure as new-born babies, but who turned out to be quite evil." That's the translation of the first sentence to me.

The other two could mean (only the author knows for sure): "I believe in Jesus, but I know I'm not completely without sin and I wouldn't like to meet Him until I can hold my head up high. Otherwise, I know I'll come out bad."

If you look at it that way instead of litterally word by word, it could be true.

It could be either. I don't believe Satan exists, so this is not "truth" to me. But it may be someone else's "truth". Though since I feel no religion has been proven absolutely right or wrong in their beliefs, I don't feel that "truth" is the appropriate word. Opinion...personal belief...sure, but I would not call either of those "truth".

"Completely grounded with Jesus Christ?" Shocking!

Anyway, I'm sure this person thinks his/her statement is "true." Whether it is factual is open to discussion, however. I would question their perceptions of reality, but that's the old psych nurse coming out in me.

A religious fanatic. Sounds like something a minister would say at a service. Absurd.

My question would be, how do you know it is Satan and not perhaps an angel of God or just a lowly human? Only by having a solid ACCURATE knowledge of the Bible could you have a basis for even knowing which one it may be.

After the first three words, "Satan showed up..." you know right away that this is just silly.

I think that person needs help. They are clearly unstable.
