My dog was recently put on Cephalexin and Temeril -P for an ear and skin infection and ever since then he's been urinating ALOT. The last couple mornings I've woken up to more than one puddle of pee on the floor. My dog Dante has been house trained for years and never normally has accidents in the house, also a couple times during the day he hasn't even made it to the door to let me know that he has to go out, and just pee'd right in from of me. This is very very unusual for him and I was just wondering if it's a sign of any problem he may be having with the medication.
I would ask the vet but they are closed on Sunday's.

Thanks!

Hey there! Temaril-P is part steroid, so yes it could definitely cause the signs that you are seeing. This is not really an emergency situation, but call your vet as soon as you can. They can tell you if you can taper the Temaril-P faster, or keep him at a lower dose for a little while longer. Some dogs (like my brother's) are more sensitive to the drug and it can cause this type of issue - in any case, DO NOT just stop the meds. You have to taper them due to their steroid component. It is a wonderful drug, but not without it's side effects. God luck!

Look both of these up on the Web. You will find the side effects listed. Caephalexin can cause excitability and drooling in dogs and Temeril-P is related to Cushings syndrome if taken for long periods of time. They must be weaned of of this one. There are many more side effects listed so take a look.

It could be the Temaril-P. From I can find about it it does cause excessive thirst. If he's drinking more he's going to pee more.

If he develops any other symptoms, such as lethargy I'd bring him to an ER vet tonight.

Be sure to check with your regular first thing tomorrow.
