The biggest resort is the Perisher Valley/Smiggin Holes complex. The resort with the longest run is Thredbo if the snow is down to the village. The resort with the most reliable snow at the ends of the season and in a poor season is Charlotte Pass.

There are also ski resorts across the border in Victoria with good skiing at Mt Hotham and Falls Creek and close to Melbourne at Mt Buller.

I have always stayed at Thredbo, or in caravans around the area. Snowy = Thredbo!!!

It is 5 hours drive more or less from Sydney.
