in most cases, no, you can't just move there. it varies on the country, but there is usually some preliminary paperwork you have to fill out; sometimes you have to have a job there first, sometimes you have to get permission first. you can look it up on the country's website usually. even Canada has a formal process you are supposed to go through. can you just go there anyway? probably! but it just depends on your style of getting things done. and you will likely just have to do the same things from their once you got there - or once they found you out! i don't think you necessarily have to change your citizenship; again, depends on the country.

Are you american? how typically arrogant of americans that they think they can just walk into a new country and live & work there.
First you must apply for a visa - either a work permit, or a permanent resident visa. Processing for PR can take years, so be prepared to stay where you are now and wait patiently.
I'll bet you cant do that because Americans are also known for being IMPATIENT.
Oh yes, and you MUST be able to show that you have lots of money (to live, pay bills, buy food, clothes, and transportation, buy a house, buy a car etc etc etc) so that you do not become a drain on the new country.

Different countries with different requirements. Basically, it takes permission to rent and to work in the other country. Go to the web site of the country you want to move to to get the correct information. Having a passport is a minimum requirement.

Well, you'll need the permission of the country you want to move to. Might not be easy. If you have money, that ought to help. I don't mean bribery. It's just that if they think you can't support yourself (and they're not likely to give you the benefit of any doubt.), they're not likely to let you in.
I'll bet broke yankees are not a very hot commodity these days.

I would say that you would need the permission of the government of the country you want to move to. A resident visa perhaps.
