The suffering that Jesus experienced then is nothing compared to the agony that he is going through these days - when he sees his church has now become churches - each headed by a mini-Jesus and preaching blasphemy and intolerance for other religions. His very words are being twisted to mean that - and his followers know not what they are doing.
Of course, the self-annointed believers and the born-agains will understand this agony after Jesus comes again. Tilll then ... it's the peace of ignorance.
(... with malice to none.)

You are given home work so you can look things up and find out for yourself. I will help with part. In the New Testament of the bible it tells about the life of Jesus. It will tell you that he was taken prisoner and then give a trial by Jewish priests.
Then he was take to the Roman Governor in hopes that Jesus would be killed. The Governor did not want to kill him so had him beaten so the Priest would be satisfied.
They were not satisfied and the Governor ordered the death of Jesus on the cross so the Priest would go away and he would appear to be a good Governor.
Jesus was made to carry a wooden cross a long ways up a hill in the city and out of a Gate called Damascus. He was nailed to the cross and had a crown of thorns on his head. He was hung up on the cross and his closes taken from him. They put a sign on the cross that said , Jesus, King of the Jews.
He hung there and died on the cross from suffocation and bleeding.
He then had a spear shoved into his heart to make sure he was dead.
I would say this is a suffering that he did not withstand.
The Bible says he suffered for our sins/Iniquities.
Hope this will help. I encourage you to read the New testament. Matthew, Mark , Luke and John.
Don't be lazy, do it!

The bible says Jesus learned obedience by the things He suffered. He was tempted by every temptation that man was, yet without sin. Just how and why He was disobedient, is beyond me. There are not supposed to be any contradictions in the bible, so this was a misprint or a contradiction. No one can answer this question if it was literal, good luck on you answer. It's like which came first, the chicken or the egg.

When God came to eart in the form of a human (or baby Jesus), he was "almost" like one if us. He could feel things, touch things, eat, drink. However, the difference was that he was the Lord. He could do absolutely anything that he could imagine.
Jesus died on the cross for us to relieve us of all our sins, so that we could be able to pass the gates of Heaven. He did suffer, wouldn't anyone? Being hung on the cross for that long? Sure, Jesus could have miraculously fixed the situation and escaped, but he couldn't. Because God wanted to show us how much he loved us, by having his only son die for us on the cross. Jesus's body died, but not Jesus himself.
When Jesus died, he entered hell in order to relieve all our sins. He felt the sorrow and pain of what those would feel who would eventually enter hell. After 3 days, Jesus rose.
That is why now, we can pray for forgiveness for our sins. We do not have to keep that huge weight on us for all the bad things we did. Because unless we accept Jesus as our only Savior, we will enter hell as well.

Jesus came to us as a man...flesh and blood, nerves and feeling, etc.,. Only thing different was He had God's Holy Spirit within Him and He had knowledge we humans did not.
So, Jesus felt pain if he got a splinter, He felt pain when others were hurting or being deceived, He felt pain for not being allowed to heal everyone, He felt pain from the burning sun, and so on... Every pain that a human can suffer, He had the ability to have pain of it also....

Probably from the Biblical accounts of what happened to him between his arrest and death. That would convince me. Or perhaps it was Jesus' prayers in the garden just before his arrest when he prayed to his Father for essentially "loopholes". He knew what was to happen and asked "to remove this cup from me". In other words, can you get me out of this. There must be another way.
More important to his suffering though was to bring honor to his Father's name and do His will. Long ago, right after the original sin, this had been decided and Jesus had agreed it was the best way of handling matters.

The Bible describes how Jesus was tortured and crucified. The Mel Gibson movie was pretty graphic about it. I know He was suffering before the beating, even at Gethsemane...as He sweat blood...and knew what was coming. We believe what is written in the Word of God.

If you want to know why he suffered, it was because the Jews believed that everytime a person sinned (did something against Gods commands) there had to be a blood sacrifice (one of their animals had to be killed and offered to God) to make things right again with God. Jesus saw that God was not happy with this and offered himself as a human sacrifice so that our sins are forgiven once and for all if we believe in him and are truly sorry.

The nails were the method used to cause his suffering.
They are not the reason WHY he suffered. The accounts of his execution shows HOW he suffered, not WHY.
Satan has made an accusation against ALL mankind, that we only serve God because there is benefit for us, that we'd forsake him if we were to suffer because of serving him. (read the book of Job)
To pay the ransom, all that was required was for Jesus to die. The method did not matter, he could've died in his sleep.
But Satan was trying to get Jesus to forsake his God and hence sin. So he used all sort of torment on him, emotional and physical.
But Jesus did not give up. Hence Jesus won and the Devil lost.
That is WHY Jesus suffered.

The easiest answer is that he suffered because what he taught was not acceptable to the religious leaders of his day so they plotted his death and to achieve it convinced the Romans that Jesus was potentially someone who could start a riot.
