"Mr Boa and girlfriend Gillian Brown, both biomedical scientists, had met up with York at a pub in the town of Tumut, near the caravan park where they were all staying, and a discussion about creationism escalated into a shouting match.
The Scottish couple, who were staying in Tumut in the Snowy Mountains of New South Wales, picking fruit as part of a year-long round-the-world trip, had been arguing the case of evolution, while York, also fruit picking, had asserted that humans had been created as described in the Bible...
...The court heard that York, who had been making dinner, knocked a pizza box out of Miss Brown's hand outside his tent as the argument escalated, before stabbing Mr Boa with a kitchen knife."
I guess when there is no evidence on your side you can always kill them.

Azazel: Well, uh, with this thing humans have called LAW, killing a person would actually make one LESS likely to reproduce.
So its not survival of the fittest, its survival of the most insane!

Unfortunately a formula well-relied upon through the years.
What a shame.

This should be taken as a lesson to all.
The fact that one man can give higher value to his beliefs than to that of the life of another human being, is to say the least disturbing.
We should always consider the value of the thing for which we are both willing to kill for and die for.
I also think it is important to consider those things which we are willing to live for.
I wrote the above while restraining both my black humour (a natural way the approach such events) and a strong sense of revolt as to any primitive who could do such a thing!
Control is the key and know when to stop and not cross the line is a sign of mastery.
This have learnt from my own experience, extremes are to be avoid if at all possible.
It is better to be judged by 12 than carried by six!
However you will never lose if you are not in the fight.
There is more than one way to skin a cat.
These may seem a load of old bolloeni, but care reflection with save more than the consumption of my keyboard.
This advice is so that you can avoid a similar faint if you find yourself in such a situation.

whilst I do believe in evolution, i do no longer hate creationists. On that be conscious, I ought to tell you that killing human beings out of being aggravated by making use of them is the barbaric way of heathens and occasional lives. i'm no longer afraid to declare that. there's an outstanding reason homicide isn't allowed: it creates hate and anger surpassing purely being aggravated. the place there is homicide, there is grief and the prospect that somebody will desire to avenge the murdered. while that occurs, chaos emerges to engulf the section the place revenge is occurring. it is no longer something helpful in any respect. in case you go around killing people who have not have been given the comparable opinion as you each and every of the time, you would be the single that pays heavily for it, commencing from with your person existence to having to lose each and every thing you enjoyed in existence. you will go through alongside with everybody else. Plus, the international will see what is going on interior the U. S. and doubtless declare warfare, because of the fact they understand what occurred the final time a valuable united states of america did something such as you're making plans to do. That valuable united states of america became into Germany while Hitler became into alive. no rely how valuable the U. S. weapons are, we would have won no longer something interior the tip. whether we win international warfare III, the international would motel to desperate measures and destroy many supplies of supplies, which we import. Now, i ought to care much less approximately supplies. the element is your plot of killing everybody with a various view from you is misguided and savage. i'd do something to offer up it from occurring. I even have acquaintances that are creationist, and that i do no longer desire them to be harmed in any way. i will die struggling with, first. God Bless.

I simply hate that religion has now led to murder.
Religion has in fact brought great amounts of negativity to this world. While I completely respect all religions, I hate that they must feud so constantly.
When you think about it, there is really no use in arguing. If there is a God now, than he is ALREADY here. If there isn't a God, there never has been, and never will be.
The truth has already been decided: Man just has no way to know it, yet.
But just the same, why argue? Either there is a god, or there is not; no amount of arguing, and regardless of who wins the argument, or in this case who comes out of it alive, it makes no difference, because we have no say in it.

Ah, while "he was drunk at the time" excuses nothing, it explains a lot.
And one cannot condemn a viewpoint just on the basis that an unbalanced individual holds it, or cannot argue for it coherently, or resorts to violence when frustrated.
(I've seen some seriously worrying/embarrassing folk nominally on my side, here on Y!A. )
But there are some bizarre individuals out there, as I recently pointed out with the question about the thieves who attacked a holy man and made off with his leg...

And you think one killed the other to keep their winning argument quiet? That person who was killed... their knowledge would make a world of difference in making the case in favor of evolution?
How about heat of the moment? How about maybe that one argument was the straw that broke the camel's back. They were a COUPLE? Surely they argued about other things.

The article said before it was over all three were quite drunk. I guess this is another example of what happens when you mix hot tempers, knives, and alcohol. It's never a good outcome.

this happens a few times every year. something like this. Last year I recall a redneck killing someone because he did not believe in Jesus. He was proud when he called the police to tell them he had killed the devil himself

Acceptance of evolution is so widespread that Creationists have to resort to violence and threats of violence. Kitzmiller v. Dover ended with death threats against the judge.
